Batman Begins Let's talk about "World's Finest" REALISTICALLY

i stated this in another thread.

imo, if the movie is called "Batman vs. Superman", thats what it should be. heres the story: Bruce Wayne falls deeply in love with some chick and she becomes his fiance. they get married. while on a plane flight on their honeymoon some terrorists decide to hijack Bruce's private jet. hey its Bruce Wayne, hes loaded, so it an easy way to snatch him and his new wife, and hold them for ransom. however, supes is in the neighborhood and tries to stop them, resulting in the accidental death of Bruce's wife. blaming Superman for killing his wife and ruining his life yet again by taking away his loved one, he goes on a vendetta against supes. after getting his ass handed to him bey supes several times, Bats does some kind of mastermind plan a la Hush, and kicks Superman's ass. however, after seeing supes try to help someone after being seriously whupped by Bats, Batman realizes that Superman isn't a villian, and goes back to Gotham. so, essentially Bats would be the villian, yet at the same time the victim.

btw, this movie should be in two parts. first part coming out for Thanksgiving, second part for Christmas. or you could also do Christmas and New Year.

See...you lost me right there and it's not even 20 minutes into the movie.

I think, IF it happens.....it'll be like in 2015.

I think 3 or 4 sequels for each film.
OMG!!! I hope our 2015 will be the same from Back To The Future II!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I already some architectural elements changing and looking like the Future in BTTF.

If Superman Returns had been done better then perhaps a World's Finest movie would work out, but at the moment it seems rather bleak. In order to keep with SR's legacy, you're most likely going to ruin the BB one.

In my opinion, it's going to happen without a doubt. However, it wouldn't be for a while.
I say....

Batman Begins
Superman Returns
Batman Sequel
Superman Sequel
Worlds Finest

We're talkin' like....2010. At LEAST. Wouldn't you agree?

But aside from that, what angle would they go with? What storyline? How could Superman exist in Batman's realistic world from Batman Begins?

I say, go with the Animated Series storyline.

Batman/Superman vs. The Joker/Lex Luthor (they team up with a brilliant plan to take over/destroy something or other)
Batman falls in love with Lois Lane
Batman and Superman fight

Not singer's Superman, yuk!!!!

I agree with this however I think a Batman and Superman movie should show that the differences between the two characters does cause conflict between them. While Scott and Jackson would be good choices, I think Singer could do a good job with both characters as well and I would pick him over Nolan for a film like this.
Love your sig.

I love Superman Returns though.

My problem would be with starring. I want Batman to just pwn all the time. He gets his own movie, Superman gets his own movie......everyone's happy. lol....

I agree 100% How could they do a World's Finest Film the way Singer Did SR. It just Can't happen....

This is what I would say instead of having Bruce go to Metropolis I say we have the SR Cast come to Gotham and go from there.

Nah.

If SR did better at the B.O., I mean murdering *****es at the B.O., a WF film would be LESS possible. The only reason WF might be more possible now is to make MORE money.....if SR made more, then what'd be the point and reason?

to bad that you didn't read past the first 20 minutes...your loss. btw, i did say "if the movie is called Batman vs. Superman" (suggesting they fight), which would make this a decent plot for the movie, imo.

however, i would prefer to see a team-up based movie a la World's Finest (not a translation though), which is based in Metropolis.

I don't think they should or can fight each other. Not only will it conflict with one hero's city it will also bring down the fans of the other's franchise. Even if they made nobody win (tie) I wouldn't be able to stand seeing batman fighting another superhero, especially Superman.

...These are big businessmen obsessed with money. To them, there is no such thing as making too much money. If SR makes the bank, and so do the sequels for both Batman and Superman, they would practically force Nolan/Singer to make a World's Finest.

your plot sucked.

and if they fight, here's a quick break down.

batman pisses off superman endlessly, superman cracks him in half. not even 30 minutes into the movie.

Well, that's my point.

They could make MORE money with seprate films.

Now.....with seprate films AND a WF at the SAME TIME.....now, that's an idea......crazy.....but it's an idea....

My dream writer for a Batman Vs/and Superman film is Jeff Loeb. I love the way he writes the characters in the comics and he is a producer on Smallville. Actually I would love to see what he could do with Bats period after Nolan/Goyer/Nolan have their trilogy wrapped up.

so you're saying you want the superman character in a potential "World's Finest" movie to be entirely different from the superman the audience would have seen at that point in the preceeding 3 singer flicks?

singer is doing a Silver Age superman while Smallville is Byrne's The Man of Steel. they're entirely different characters. as different as Miller's Batman from superfriends Batman.

i'd say this is a ****ing bad idea. too confusing for audiences. you either need continuity from the superman series (singer or someone with a like mind on the characterization of superman) or someone with a clean slate. the worst idea possible is to have someone who's developed superman mythos onscreen in a different direction coming in and confusing the audience.

i know why you want loeb. because you saw him in superman/batman it's like in this clip: http://youtube.com/watch?v=vgYhLIThTvk&search=kevin smith superman
where kevin smith talks about the guy who sees star wars and then wants r2d2 in the next superman movie. superman/batman is too soap-opera for a "world finest" movie. the core of the movie cant be these huge political/interstellar things like darkseid and lex as president. the only way the movie would work is to be a sort of action-punctuated character study of batman and superman and their methods and morals and how they're different but both work for justice at the end of the day. loeb's superman/batman stuff would be for movie 3 in a series not a one shot "worlds finest"

singer is a good director, but he really has problems with conceptualizing the pacing of action movies looking at SR and Xmen. as World's Finest is a one-off Nolan has a better track record of interesting and self-contained movies. singer cant even flesh out the one character of superman in SR and balance it with action, how could you expect him to do so with superman AND batman

X2 was a good movie. but the first Xmen was actually a very poor effort... singer struggled with balancing the character elements of the first movie... good job with wolverine but at the expense of everyone else. SR lacked a beginning, middle and end. I know a lot of excuses can be made for the origins portion of Xmen but look what Nolan did with the same (and more complicated) restrictions in BR, more completely fleshing out batman and driving a full story arch along with 3dimensional development of the batman character.

and keep in mind that the xmen franchise, you dont even really need an origins story. part of the fun is to see new characters pop up and see what powers. but in fact the first xmen is really a "wolverine" movie not a xmen movie... based on this precendent you cant expect singer to do both superman and batman justice. if you're talking about a superman movie where batman appears as a cameo or a peripheral player then yeah he prolly could handle that.
