Sci-Fi Lilo & Stitch-The Live Action Remake

Was it? I always thought it was the first Post Renaissance. The animation style definitely looks closer to Atlantis than Lion King.
The Renaissance was 1989-1999 (The Little Mermaid - Tarzan). The Big Four being TLM, Aladdin, BatB, and TLK. The Bronze Age started with afterwards.

Good to know. Either way that run after Tarzan was awesome, and if anything, those are movies that should've been remade. A live action Atlantis would be amazing. So much potential, and the concept lends itself well to live action.

After Bolt, is the start of the Revival Age which starts with John Lassetter taking over the studio with The Princess and the Frog and really finding success after Frozen.

Tarzan earned $171,091,819 domestically, and almost $450 million worldwide. Outgrossed both Pocahontas and Hunchback.

After Tarzan, we got Fantasia 2000, which grossed 90 million worldwide. So the Dark Age started with that film. Dinosaur performed pretty good, $349 million worldwide though its a bit forgotten now. I'm surprised Lilo & Stitch only outgrossed Dinosaur domestically. One of the more successful films in that era/decade was Chicken Little, which has one of the worst Rt scores.

Bolt/Princess and the Frog performed okay. Tangled was really the breakout hit before Frozen. Wreck It Ralph was successful too but Tangled had better numbers. So imo, Tanged really started the new era for Disney.

Who knew Lilo & Stitch could open that big especially compare to the Marvel movies that came out this year! The fact this was supposed to be a direct to streaming movie!

I feel like in hindsight, Disney really should have released their other Disney+ movies in theaters first - Disenchanted, Hocus Pocus 2, Peter Pan & Wendy, Lady and the Tramp and even Pinocchio. They wouldn't have been box office smashes but they could have squeezed in more money by releasing them in theaters.

Every single person who paid attention. This isn't a surprise.

From the 2000s Disney movies, I want to see live action remake of Meet the Robinsons and Princess/the Frog.

A remake for Atlantis, Emperor's New Groove and Treasure Planet would be interesting, but those are probably going to struggle at the box office. I think a Bolt remake would probably attract more people but like Meet the Robinsons, I don't think the Ip has a following?

I believe Hocus Pocus 2 would have done well theatrically.

Too bad the new teens were underdeveloped! :argh:

It’s been brought to my attention that Stitch and Cruise have tangled before on their opening weekends.

And I enjoyed both films. :argh:

Atlantis and Treasure Planet would be great in live action but Emperor's New Groove would never be as funny in live action. I think it can really only work in animation.

Plus that voice cast is amazing. David Spade, Patrick Warburton, John Goodman, Ertha Kitt, Wendie Malick.

People really love Stitch huh?
My mom, who’s not even TV and film savvy, knows who Stitch is. That’s how popular he is.

He’s nearly as ubiquitous as Spider-Man, Batman, and Superman, and is a brand unto himself. I consider him to be the unofficial face of Disney and he’d be the official mascot if not for the existence of Mickey Mouse.

Wonder if another certain adorable and mischievous CGI blue furry alien in another current popular franchise is factoring in this film’s success, or, at the very least, played a part in Disney finally moving forward with it?

I have a feeling it is going to be A DIFFERENT outcome this time. Having said that I have my tickets for a 11:30am screening of, Final Reckoning for, Saturday.

There will be a huge difference between their opening weekend number!

One is over 100 million dollars!

And who’d a thunk it would be WB leading the charge lol (Minecraft, Sinners, Final Destination).
