My all-time favorite musical, catchy songs, and very funny. Steve Martin is great, cameos by Christopher Guest, Bill Murray, John Candy, and others. I hadn't saw it in like decade before I rented it the other night.

Awesome movie. One of the only good musicals out there. I was even the voice of Audrey II in my high school production of "Little Shop of Horrors".

One of my favorite musical films. Steve Martian I loved as the Dentist. Bill Murrey had a cameo in the film as the guy who just enjoys pain. I identify with both those characters. LOL. I always chuckle at Murrey's little corks in the film.

Anyone seen the original 1940s non-musical version with a very young Jack Nicholson in Bill Murray's place? Funny stuff.

Yeah. My gf and I rented it one day some years back mainly for the Nicholson cameo. It was awesome. For those who haven't seen it just imagine a ridiculously young Nicholson laying back in the dentist's chair with that trademark grin of his. He was so young that it wasn't until he gave his smile with his eyebrows raised that we fully realized it was him. We had heard he was in the movie but not which role.

The videotape released in the 80's said "starring Jack Nicholson." Yeah right.

Hopefully someday they will release the 80's musical version with its original, unhappy ending where all the plants take over.

It's cool. Little Shop of Horrors is one of those underground cult favorites. It never was a mainstream favorite or very popular by any standards. Remaking it isn't that bad of an idea. It could be done very well with the CGI avalible today. Just hope it's more inline with the two we've already got. As long as they get a seriously qorky actor to play the dentist and sadist, I'm cool.

And in regards to Jack in the original, he was sooooo freaking funny. That role was a complete ad lib and add on. Nicholson just made up the character on the spot and that's how it came out and I love it when he screams in pain/pleasure when the guy is just poking him with the dental tools and he screams. "AHHHHHHHHHHHHH....well don't stop!" lol

I'm a mean green mother from outer space and I'm bad
I'm just a mean green mother a real disgrace, and you got me fightin' mad

I'm just a mean green mother from outer space
Gonna trash yo' ass, gonna rock this place
Cause I'm mean and green...and I am....BAD.

Bill Murray is great in this!

"HEY! what did he do to you?...... Ahhh! really? you got off lightly!"

"Hey where did you get that weeeeeeeeeiiiiiiiird looking plant?"
"Well you remember that total eclipse?"
*Shhhhhadoooooop*

The Roger Corman film is a camp classic.

The 80's Broadway adaptation is one of the best shows in the past century.

The '86 adaptation of that show is not only one of the greatest musical movies of all time, but MY favorite movie of all time.

Now, this hack wants to remake the original as another one of those crappy horror movies that comes out once a month these days?

So did Steve Martin wear a wig or did he dye his hair in this movie? I could never figure it out.

There's a shop in Boston called "Daddoo," every time I walk by I think of that quote. :woot:

My theory, either Justin Long or Zachery Levi will be cast as Seymour.

I'd expect no name celebrities like every horror movie.

This is like a remake of one of the most cult things ever, though...and the character is pretty reknowned. They may go against the grain.

I just don't see how I can watch this film and not start singing certain songs at certain moments. And then I'll just get upset when the characters don't start singing!

Now you know how I felt when they cut all the Mushnik numbers from the movie version. My guess? Vincent Gardenia couldn't sing, but his name was too perfect for a movie about a plant to re-cast.

Well, they also cut out the entire adoption sub plot.
