Little Shop of Horrors

The intro:

Didn't realize that Tichina Arnold (Everybody Hates Chris, Martin) and Tisha Campbell Martin (Martin, My Wife and Kids) were two of the singers.

Hell yeah. Their first roles. Been best friends ever since.

The videotape released in the 80's said "starring Jack Nicholson." Yeah right.

Hopefully someday they will release the 80's musical version with its original, unhappy ending where all the plants take over.

that's the one reason i'm holding out on buying the dvd

I would watch this movie all the time when I was a youngling. Love it.

just saw it online for the first time just now, i can't believe warner just dumped all the money they spent on that ending. if the play was any indication, they should've taken audience reactions to the play first rather than waiting for test screenings.

It was only a matter of time!!! Everything before the end of time will atleast be remade atleast once.

In 10 years from now remakes are probably the only thing we'll get from Hollywood. And remakes of remakes. ;)

Most catchy damn intro song to a musical ever, movie or stage wise.

The original DVD release had the original ending as a b/w extra on the back side of the disc. They stopped selling it for some reason. My friend has it, but I didn't have a DVD player at the time so I didn't pick it up. I don't know if they ever plan to release it, but they should.

I had the good fortune while I was working at Emerson College a couple years ago to attend a screening at hosted by Frank Oz (Yoda himself!!! ) and during the Q&A I asked him about the original ending. Basically he said a downer ending where everybody dies works better in a stage production than a movie, since at the curtain call the audience can see the cast is actually OK. The feeling at the time was that it was too dark for a comedy.

He was also able to help me get my X-Wing out of the swamp. :cwink:
