Live-action Dragonball movie

Ok, more serious than Dragon Ball anyway. :whatever:

Yeah, they drag out something for 10 episodes. It gets to a point where it's like, "Come on already! Kill him!"

Like in the Freiza saga, Namek was to explode in minutes. The show drug it out for 8 episodes.

The reason for this is that the company making the show was producing the cartoon faster than Toyiama was making the comic, so they had to produce a lot of filler.

i think i will get a heart attack if they make the transformation to SSJ

Thats stupid. They should've fixed the timing.

How the hell can you have a DBZ movie without a Dragonball movie first? They're gonna have to introduce ****loads of characters and back story before we even see Raditz (assuming they're adapting the saiyan saga).

As huge a DB fan that I am, I have a bad feeling that this will suck.

Really doesn´t seem like it would be a movie that needs a lot of backstory, all they need to do is jump right into the action

Well they're going to have to take out some characters. If they could do it with X-Men they could PROBELY do the same thing with DBZ.

It will most likely be an original story anyway but the origins will be kept...similar, I bet.

Steven Spielberg. Whatever he touches turns to gold. :o

If the film is directed by some one like Christopher Nolan or Bryan Singer i'm happy.:oldrazz:

Yea I don´t think Nolan would even touch this project and he´s really not the guy for the job

Probely I'm just saying I want a good director like Christopher Nolan, Bryan Singer, Ridley Scott, Sam Raimi (He screwed up Spidey 3 but besides that he's pretty good), and Steven Spielberg.

I doubt that Fox will hire someone with this much prestige to direct a property right they're trying to adapt at the very last moment simply for the purpose of holding on to the rights.

Not really. People who go see it are gonna see people flying around shooting beams out of their hands at green people and dinosaurs. Not too mention alot of characters like Tien and Yamcha will have to be very underdeveloed or even taken out.

On a side note, why is this a live action? Wouldn't this be so much better with TMNT style animation?

I think I heard a rumor a long time ago about Hugh Jackman being Goku, and Orlando Bloom being Tien. Yes, a Tien who is younger than Goku  .

Nolan and Singer wouldn't work for this. They can do sci-fi action fine, but DBZ does require someone that will use flair, subtle panache can't cut it with this type of material.

its so nice that you can now always use the movie transformers as an example. you need a backtory? you need story? you need explanation?
i dont think so.

Care to elaborate? I've never seen Transformers.

NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNEEEEEEEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DBZ Gets Director!

And apparantly it should be starting in Montreal in December. A few departures (okay, a lot) but I just cant wait to see what this movie will turn out like. Especially after Wong's job on "The One".
