There is a less than zero chance they would even consider James Woods but even separating the man from the work, IMO he didn't do anything as Hades that couldn't be done by Robert Downey Jr., Sam Rockwell, Bob Odenkirk, Bill Hader, Willem Dafoe, Jeff Goldblum, etc.

DeVito as Phil is much more irreplaceable. I have a feeling they're going to get him back but if for whatever reason that doesn't happen the only other person I would accept as Phil is Paul Walter Hauser.

RDJ, Dafoe or Goldblum could definitely work for Hades.

RDJ would be genius.

Probably would go younger, but Will Arnett would make a great Hades.

Dua Lipa can't really act. She was wooden in Barbie and Argylle. From the numerous music videos she appeared in, she looked bored 90% of the time and would prefer to be somewhere else. I can see why they would cast her for an aloof-looking character like Meg. But if this is supposed to be a theaterical film, they can find someone else for the role.

Hades needs to be someone with charisma who acts with his whole body and all...grant feels like he barely tries acting at all in recent years.

A Hades centric film, would in an ironic way be more in line with actual Greek Myth. Because as we all know...Zeus is a dick.

This is probably my favorite Disney animated franchise. The animated series is so damn good. I’d prefer a straight up Hercules movie but I don’t hate this idea. I’ll be curious who they cast… RDJ , Jon Hamm or Sam Rockwell would work. James Woods is so good in this role, it’s pretty iconic. I think whoever they get should be somewhat in line with that portrayal. I definitely don’t want a subdued Hades.

Don’t know if I linked that right but around the 30 minute mark in the Variety Awards Circuit interview with her, they talk about rumours regarding Ariana playing Megara. She denies them saying there haven’t been any discussions and instead suggests that Liz Gillies would be better for the role. So to Ms Grande-Butera I say

Assuming they plan to stick with the Disney Hades and not Greek mythology Hades, not sure what the point of watching someone do a pastiche of Woods’ performance for two hours would be.

I appreciate that they’re looking to do something different rather than just another pointless live action remake but I think Meg would be a more interesting POV than Hades.
