I always thought it would be cool to have a live action X-Men tv series. And now with the success of Heroes I don't see why they wouldn't. With a tv series, they can delve more deeply into the X-Men lore, and stay truer to the comic book.

The problem with the movies is that they try and cram 40 years of history into three 2-hour movies. But a one-hour, 23 episode season, they can do much more. Especially if it goes into multiple seasons.

If it worked for Smallville and Heroes, I think it could definately work for X-Men.

they had one, it was called Generation X or something. it aws terrible.

Generation X was both terrible and badass at the same time. Granted, it was mostly terrible, but there were some characterization gems in there.

like the dude with the x-ray vision looking at the chicks boobs in the car.

Nah, like the whole group getting arrested and each one of them giving the police variations of the same name: Eddie Vedder.

I actually enjoyed that. I still have it on tape. But, that was over ten years ago and before this superhero craze that we have now. Plus, they used obscure characters. The only one I knew was Jubilee, and that was only cause of the cartoon. They should start with the core characters; Jean, Cyclopes, Beast, Angel, and Iceman. Also, don't make it so superheroy. Make it more grounded and socially concious.

Thus GENERATION X(like the team).

If they made series it should be like Ultimate X-men. Superheroes while socially conscious.

A nice, quality cartoon dealing with the original five, in the same vein as First Class would be great. It would also never happen. There's no way an X-Men show without Storm or Wolverine would make it past the first pitch.

I was thinking that during the course of the season, they build up wolverines appearance, then midway through, during sweeps or something, introduce the second wave of X-Men, Storm, Wolverine, Nightcrawler, Colossus, Banshee, etc...

As long as it's not like smallville or like the cartoon 'evolution'. They would need to have a decent enough tone to appeal to all, not just teens etc.

Agreed. :xmen:

I'd rather see a cartoon, too. Live action is pretty limiting.

The budget for the Xmen movies was ridiculous compared to the budget of TV shows.

Depending on what station and who funds it, it would get a max of 5million for the whole year. All 22 hour long episodes.

Didn't anyone watch Mutant X and how cheesy the effects were in a lot of the episodes? A cartoon would probably be better.

The coolest part for me of the Generation X pilot (or special, whatever it was) was when the kids are playing football and got into a big pile after the fumble. Banshee comes in and goes "beHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAve!!!". I thought it was very cool and the effects they used for the scream were great.

X-men as the main team, would never work... but show about the smaller teams..

X-factor (current)
New X-men
Exiles
Generation X

would work perfectly... actually X-factor and New X-men would be pretty awsome to see

No one would go for a New X-Men show. I guarantee you a good number of people watching the pilot would say "Who are these people? Where are the real X-Men?" Those kids would make excellent supporting characters on a show centering on the main X-Men, though.

I think a live-action show could handle most mutant powers, so long as the power isn't too flashy, and the directors & producers know how to get creative. I think Heroes did a good job of showing us that.

No. The X-Men are not very well suited for a tv series in the slightest. Imagine how toned down it would have to be because of budgetary reasons. It just wouldn't be very good.

On the other hand, a HBO production of Daredevil could work out.

sorry but your wrong there, look at smallville for instance... it took years before a main charachter other then a young lex and supes to show up... and clark has still never warn tights. As long as it feels like x-men and is connected to the X-universe it will be fine.... plus classic X-men would most definately make cameos

Are you kidding? Ya know some of the supposed multi-million dollar effects that they do for Star Wars and everything. People do stuff that is just as good as that with just a couple programs that cost only a couple hundred.

Check out some here that are made on pretty much $0 budget.
