Logan Logan spoiler thread discussion

Cool easter egg, did anyone notice there was an "H" on Pierce's mech hand? A little nod to his comic roots with the Hellfire Club :D (or it could just be "H" for hand lol).

I wonder if it's implied anywhere in the film if Jean Gray was killed as well by Charles' lack of control due to his seizures, since her powers are comparable to his and of course much more powerful when she's reincarnated as Dark Phoenix.

Apparently, there was going to be a flashback sequence, but Mangold preferred to keep what happened vague and not distract from focusing on the main characters:

Hopefully it would be available on blu ray.

Well, they never filmed it, so it won’t be...

Screenwriter Michael Green says earlier versions of the script included flashbacks that would have spelled out that incident, but the team decided to cut it.

"It actually hits home a lot harder than the versions that really painted out specifically the flashback," Green tells Heat Vision. "Of course there are versions we wrote that were never filmed with the actual flashback of what happened, but I’ve found the experience of watching it is far more poignant to just know that it was something really regrettable and it was bad and most likely, friends were lost. Or maybe it was people we didn't know."

I would've preferred a flashback sequence before the movie, over the Deadpool teaser we got.

Not saying I didn't like the Deadpool teaser; I loved it. Just would've preferred something related to the movie.

The ending did feel open to more being explored with it since the kids continued on their way but you didn't get a conclusion to the eden stuff.

"I know what I think happened, I even know what did happen, but it doesn’t matter, because what’s canonized here is the emotional effect of things."

I saw it twice in one day, that was not in the movie

No I dont think it was, something similar but I think he just had hist vest on by that stage of the film in the woods.

Mine also had something similar, but without the text praising the film.

I assume weschester involved charles wiping out the x-men. but it's enough to know that they dead.

I was wondering, though, who do you guys think is running the safe haven in Canada?

I need to watch it again to confirm it, but I think it was. Maybe the shot was inverted and color corrected to have a warmer look in the film. That shot of Logan extending his claws towards Pierce in their desert hideout was also inverted in the trailer. In the trailer Logan is on the left side of the screen while in the movie he's on the right. Anyway, I distinctly remember a shot of Logan walking through the woods and getting tired being in the film. Maybe just an alternate take or it was cut short? I doubt there's more to it than that, though. We all know what that shot is all about and where in the film it was supposed to be even if it isn't in the finished film.

Yeah maybe an alternate take. Because I remember that shot too but he wasn't wearing the jacket on.

Was Dr.Rices father shown in XOW?

About the adamantium bullet... IMHO, I would have liked some sort of sign that the rest of X24s brain was removed from his body, or that X23 decapitates him = no new regeneration.

Movie-verse Wolverine has shown he should be able to recover from a wound like that.

A chunk of his head came off, plus i don't think X-24 heals as efficiently as Logan used too. Remember, he was given the serum by Dr.Rice after the farm house attack. Original Logan would have healed from those wounds by himself….

I know, but as you said...

I might have missed it, but I dont remember hearing anything that said X24 was inferior to original Logans healing ability.

You might be right though... Meaning X24 wasnt quite up to Logans regenerative abilities so he needed the occasional booster.

Will have to pay closer attention next viewing.

Mangold just confirmed that on his twitter!
