Loki LOKI General Discussion Thread

Loki is two of the Big 3 since he's both an alien and a wizard.

So when Loki was in the plane, was he in the plane during the Civil War battle just looking on?

Loki: World-Exclusive First Image Of Tom Hiddleston’s MCU Return

To be fair I like that the s***storm of missing Mephisto and all the bitterness for Wandavision turns away into ironic jokes about it and noone seems to be more angry with the final (at least in my point of view what I readed).

You must not read the X-Men threads. :p

People may summarize it as "Looking for Mephisto", but Mephisto was just a plausible enough guess at the answer to a mystery, that just didn't happen to be right. The real metastatic fan theorization was the Pietro/Mutant/Multiverse stuff, because it ultimately had nothing to do with the story of the series at all. It simply sought to use WandaVision as a tool for delivering mutants.

Tom Hiddleston Says Loki Is About ‘The Many Selves’ Of His MCU Anti-Hero – Exclusive

Speaking to Empire in his world-exclusive new cover interview, Hiddleston talks about how fitting Loki’s font-shifting title card is when it comes to the show and the character. “I want to preserve the freshness of the show for when it emerges, but something to think about is the [show’s] logo, which seems to refresh and restore,” he teases. “The font of how Loki is spelled out seems to keep changing shape. Loki is the quintessential shapeshifter. His mercurial nature is that you don’t know whether, across the MCU, he’s a hero or a villain or an anti-hero. You don’t know whether you can trust him. He literally and physically changes shape into an Asgardian guard, or into Captain America repeatedly. Thor talks about how he could change into a snake.”

He continues: “I think that shapeshifting logo might give you an idea that Loki, the show, is about identity, and about integrating the disparate fragments of the many selves that he can be, and perhaps the many selves that we are. I thought it was very exciting because I’ve always found Loki a very complex construct. Who is this character who can wear so many masks, and changes shape, and seems to change his external feeling on a sixpence?”

I have always believed that when Kevin Feige officially introduces mutants, most notably the X-Men, it would be something bigger than a Disney+ show, like oh I don't know......a Comic-Con or a D23.

I mean, most likely, though a teaser cameo of some kind isn't *impossible*. The problem is less that it couldn't ever happen, and more this sense of entitlement that it *must* happen, and that *not* doing so is some crime and offense against X-Men fans.

I blame Fox, sort of. 20 years of Fox making essentially just X-Men movies has created the illusion that the X-Men are just as big and important as the entirety of the rest of the MCU. And, bluntly, that just isn't so.

The fact that Disney had Hiddleston narrate the "A New Beginning - The Stories Continue" Disney+ promo with Loki in the thumbnail made me think of Loki's new start as the God of Stories. Probably just some coincidence and not some clever meta teaser, but just funny that way I guess.

Looking forward to this as it will give us a view of how the cosmic world dealt with The Snap. We haven't really seen it because the focus has been on Earth when Thanos took half he took it from entire universe. Hopefully we get a glimpse into that even though it is mostly jumping time, fixing timelines may also be how we get mutants and vampires.

More than Tom Hiddleston returning to the role, I'm looking forward to seeing Owen Wilson cosplay as John Slattery.

looking closer to this, it doesn’t looks so devilish - this could be Vorth, one of the Timekeepers.

this is, what I found. Trailer is good - the quality ain’t

Well that puts a bit of a crimp in the tradition me and my sister started (which started with Mandalorian) with watching these Disney+ shows together when she comes over for Friday dinner, not sure both of us can withstand holding off on watching when the new episode drops on a Wednesday until the following Friday (it'll make avoiding spoilers a pain - and potentially impossible)
