I just have a question, everybody's saying that Loki supposedly owes Spider-Man a favor (which supposedly will solve the unmasking crisis). Can someone explain to me when this happened and why? Thanks

I dunno exactly when it happened, but I it was sometime in JMS' run (I think it was right before the "Book of Ezekial" arc).

I've yet to read the story myself, but I do know that in the story, Spidey helped Loki take care of a problem (some villaness giving him **** or something) and in return Loki said he owed him one.

In the two-parter "Chasing a Dark Shadow" just before the "Book of Ezekiel" arc, Spidey helped Loki to stop Morwen, the First Sorceress of Chaos. However, Morwen's spirit had used Loki's daughter (Tess Black) for her human form, and Spidey helps Loki to bring Morwen down in a way that leaves Tess unharmed.

After it's done, Loki says:
"I owe you a favor, for saving her life.
One day, should you chose, you may collect upon it."

I loved that story... it had Spidey and Loki eating hot dogs on a rooftop while shooting the breeze... what's not to like about that? ;)

you know it would so great if they brought this up again... but we must realize the truth. this is marvel were talking about. since when have they had any respect for continuity or past events? seriously. i agree with everyone thinking that loki's favor should be brought up again.. but come on, joe q is an idiot. he would never think of something like this. his smartest ideas are giving a spider-man stingers and designing a crappy costume. and jms isn't any better either.

Loki gave Spidey a rune to keep, in the event Spidey needed him. This rune would call Loki and allow Loki to return Spidey's favor. A good time to use it may have been whilst being beaten to death by Morlun, but I digress. The story was really fun and very well written (and of course we all still miss JR Jr.). I have very few doubts that we'll see a revisit to this unexplored bit of plot in the Quesada/JMS story-arc "One More Day." I suppose time will tell.

One More Day? Makes a lot of sense when you think about it.

I thought Loki was dead along with all the other Asgardians. Spidey can't very well collect on a debt from a dead guy. If he could, he'd probably make Uncle Ben pay him for all those birthdays he's missed in the last few years.

I dont get it, i dont really follow Thor's comics too much but isn't Loki supposed to be a big bad god-like supervillain? He's Thor's arch nemesis right? So what's Spidey doin eating hot-dogs with him all of a sudden? Is he a good guy now?

spider-man hates thor it all goes back to the secret wars.

I would like a 'conclusion' to that story....Spidey getting a favour from a god.

:yay:

Loki is supposedly dead and so is Thor. But that isn't stopping JMS from writing a new Thor series which will, undoubtedly, bring Loki back into the picture.

Terrific. I guess now we'll find out Thor was chosen by a totem of hammer fetishists.

Really? I didn't know that. Any chance of elaborating?
well when spider-man saw that thor had a new helmut he asked him where he got it because he needed a new costume seeing as his was torn up, and thor told him a machine made it for him and to just think of what he wanted and he would have it. well he didn't tell spider-man which one and spider-man ended getting the black costume that ended up becoming Venom.

so spider-man has had a thing out for thor all this time, its the real reason that he switched sides in the civil war, 1) he hates thor and 2) he hates clones.
so how mad do you thing he was that there was a thor clone walking around?
