Lost's Sawyer Up For Role in X-men 4

In a recent interview with IESB, producer Lauren Schuler Donner revealed her pick to play Gambit in the next X-Men movie: Josh Holloway.
Holloway is best known to audiences as televisions Sawyer on ABC's hit show Lost. Rumors of the actor playing Gambit have been circling around the Internet for months, largely due to his striking resemblance to the comic book character.
Many X-men fans have been hoping Gambit would make the transformation to the big screen since the original film. Now it seems Gambit will finally come to life in X-men 4, which hasn't been officialy announced yet.
"The reason we didn't use Gambit was because in a sense his persona is a bit like WOLVERINE," revealed Donner. "In that he's got attitude and his power is not quite as exciting as the others."
Another posable reason for the popular characters inclusion is the rumor that many of the franchises main draws will not be returning for a fourth film. This likely includes Halle Berry (Storm), Ian McKellen (Magneto) and Hugh Jackman (Wolverine).
Jackman, however, will be back as Wolverine in a movie spin-off slated for 2008.

But it really goes to show that Donner can say some dumb **** once in a while. Power not as exciting as others? He makes stuff... BLOW up. What would she call that? Dull?

shadowcat has one of the most boring powers of all the x men and suprheroes in general- i still don't understand why she was included in X3

^shadowcat has the most boring power..I would love the walk through almost anything..if you call being practically invinciable and being a ghost boring..?? i think she has one of the most interesting..Rogue has the most boring...touch to use powers..nothing special!

And for the role of Gambit in X4...all they need to do is confirm X4..the actors aren't getting younger such as Halle Berry and Hugh Jackman....

I can't believe Donner said Gambit's powers weren't exciting. They are one of the best powers in the X-Men comic books. How can a guy who charges objects with Kinetic energy and make them explode be not exciting. HE MAKES THINGS EXPLODE!!! PLAYING CARDS NO LESS!!! That is cool!!! Donner, you should be ashamed.

Nah a Gambit movie wouldn't be nearly as interesting as having him in a X-men movie. Gambit solo would mean no flirting with Rogue, no clashes with Wolverine and no connection with Storm.
