Lounge 78

Good news, friends! My search for a new job is now over after not much luck over the last few years.

I’m going to be working part-time at a place for those with developmental and physical challenges like myself. Will be doing stuff like organizing papers, stapling, and any other tasks I’m given.

Will be interesting to see how it goes once my schedule is worked out.

I’m optimistic it’ll work out! :D
Congrats. Hope it's something you enjoy.

Our future in one photograph . :( So easy to be pessimistic these days.

Pretty sure that's @Babillygunn s crib. My guess is he was trying to save money and put in ceiling joists spaced at 24" instead of 16" OC. Let this be a lesson to all of you.

BTW, the chili/chicken wing cook off went really well. Because it was the week before Memorial Day, Ribeye was on sale for less than tri tip, round, etc. so I bought that for the chili. I also roasted some jalapenos that really added a nice flavor to it. I also used bacon, which ended up adding to it also.

The wings were dry brined for a day before putting a rub on them and sitting for another day. Then I smoked them with applewood and baked at 425 for about 30 minutes. Crunchy on the outside and super moist on the inside. The guy who doesn't know how to put in a ceiling properly deserves "some" credit for the wings....

EDIT: AAAAAND......since you need to fix your kitchen anyway, lose your grandmother's wallpaper and overhead lighting, get new appliances, and find somewhere else for the refrigerator. Who has their stove that close to the fridge?

Fing heartbreaking. Hey, I have a great idea. Let’s cut public funding for scientific research and hand it over to responsible corporate interests. What could possibly go wrong?

That’s not my kitchen. I’m not that swanky!

In all honesty, that does look a lot like my parents’ kitchen in the house that I grew up in. But luckily there were no bears around, even if I did live near some woods/park.

Glad to hear that the wings and chili went well. This past weekend I smoked a 20 pound brisket and around 15 lbs of pork butt for my son’s graduation party. It was a big hit. But I feel like I started a little too early and I had to keep the meat warm for about an extra 6 hours. So it kind of dried out a little. But the burnt ends from the brisket were especially amazing.

This was part of the brisket.

I was too busy and forgot to photograph the pork belly. But those were what are wrapped in the background of the photo.

I wonder who it was that alerted AP to stop her. 🤔

So....let me make a wild guess. Once this became public knowledge, it was the fault of the employees and Walmart just won't stand for this sort of thing.

This is a complete one off by rogue staff and if it had not been seen by a gazillion people, Walmart would have taken the same action.

When I worked in retail and had someone accuse someone of shoplifting, they encouraged us to be discreet about it. Also, I definitely would have had another shopping cart to put her groceries in as we were checking them off. But I will say "I'm a Christian" makes you sound guilty because that's a shoplifter go-to phrase.

This shift is part of a broader effort by Walmart to streamline operations. The company has been planning to reduce its workforce over the past year and has said it expects automation to handle about 65% of its store services by the end of fiscal year 2026.

Oooooohhhhhh.....send me the brisket recipe.

And here I was expecting something like "Assuming facts not in evidence".
