And more irritated at the snobbish critics who seem to enjoy lambasting movies that clearly aren't made for them.

I disagree, I think blockbusters are exactly where his talent belongs. His entire skill-set has always been in tapping into mass appeal. He's not inventive enough as a storyteller to thrive in smaller, more personal films, and he doesn't have the patience to be a good TV showrunner (hence him abandoning every show he's ever created after like 2 seasons with no end game in place). He knows how to make something look cool and appeal to the mainstream audience. Short term storytelling for broad audiences is exactly what suits him, imo.

I think his action and comedy chops aren't very inventive.
Of all the more well-known directors, he really knows how to stage the emotional sides to his films. If he had writers to really tap into that, he could broaden his filmmaking scope.

I was checking out the DCEU leaks reddit thingy and there's this new post by someone who apparently has a solid track record that says

For most of his screen time Superman is bad and does wear the black suit. He doesn't have a mullet or beard, his hair is just a little longer than usual.
The villain(Steppenwolf) goes rogue. In the final battle he defeats & kills all of the league except Flash who travels back in time to prevent it. Steppenwolf is sent back to Darkseid where he is killed by ''lasers''(Omega beams), this is the only time we see Darkseid. He said the cg wasn't completed so it was some guy in a mo-cap suit acting next to green screen and vfx lasers.
Aquaman steals the show. Mera joins the league in the final fight. During the opening battle(Which reminded him of Game of Thrones apparently) a green lantern fights against Darkseid's army.

No, but they were talking about shots like this and whether or not they were coincidences. Sam Otten's podcast goes through a lot of the metaphors, writing, and allusions of the movies.
