Tony Zhou just threw Marvel under the bus

ayyyyy

If he asked me to do Marvel music, I would start humming Danny Elfman Spider-Man and Hulk themes.

He's right to blast them. The only MCU theme I can hum is Cap's from TFA. Whereas I know all of the main DCEU pieces and motifs.

Avengers' theme for me, *if* I can remember it.

He's absolutely right, they take low risk with their music and their films. Unfortunately it's low risk and high reward, so it may take a while to buck the trend.

I honestly think their Daredevil show has a better score than any of their films

Unfortunately, Critics don't take into account minor things like "musical score" or "cinematography" while giving ratings.

Agreed.

Daredevil has a chilling and powerful theme.Absolutely amazing.

Marvel movies on the other hand...

If there's one thing I think the DCEU has over the Marvel movies, is the music. I love Marvel, but for the most part they're extremely lacking in the score department.

Very lacking. It's not even remotely close. The DCEU brings the visual wallpaper as well.

That's to be expected with Zack Snyder at the helm. You get visual wonder. :hehe:

Definetely. Its very much a Zack Snyder thing not a DCEU thing.SS didnt have great visuals. So far MOS and BvS both had amazing score and visuals.

I disagree SS didn't have great visuals. It didn't have great CGI work, some costume and set designs were lacking, but stuff like Chemical Wedding, Deadshot with his daughter ambushed by Batman and many others were great.

Would have to disagree on that one.Although some scenes were good like the ones you mentioned, overall to me it was very bland and boring. Obviously thats just my taste.

I find most of the recent musical themes unmemorable.

Going far back I always thought the Rocketeer theme was underrated.

Why did critics act like Civil War was Allah's gift to comic book inspired cinema? I don't get it. The only stuff that put a smile on my face was Spider-Man.

Black Panther was cool.
The fight choreography towards the end of the film was cool. But overall, it was so paint by the numbers.

It's the NOW 2016 of superhero films.

I don't think any new superhero themes will come close to the evocative power of John Williams' Superman theme or Danny Elfman's Batman theme. The two are perfect companions to one another, too. Somebody could know nothing about either character but still make observations about each of them by listening to the two themes consecutively.

Picked up Conjuring2 and Depalma doc on blu.

Here is GDT badass car.

Not a cb guy but I went into the rabbit hole and started reading about some cb characters etc.

Wow.

Scott Summers is such a Badass great character, and what Singer did to this character is a goddamn disgrace. Folks talk about Snyder not understanding Supes, but Singer just straight up spat on that character face. The goddamn leader of the Xmen reduced to that.

I felt nerd rage like never before, and I nevah even read the comics, maynes.

Singer can go straight to hell.

Hopefully DCEU can keep up the great scores now that Hans is gone. Suicide Squad's wasn't really that good imo, but that could also be partly because it was overwhelmed by all the licensed tracks. I loved the scores for MoS and BvS though, so we'll just have to see how they do post Zimmer.

I always tell people that. Like don't tell me Snyder don't love Big Blue. If you want to see what hating a character looks like, watch X-Men and X2.

I'm a fan of most of his X-Men films, but what he did to Cyclops...damn him for that. Cyclops was always one of my favorites.
