Black Narcisssus. Am I still on your ignore list? I'm sorry for criticizing Scorsese.

So... curiosity prevailed and I picked up "The Dark Knight: Master Race" recently (not bought, thankfully). And yeah, Frank Miller keeps embarrassing himself. I admit that there is a method to his madness, I liked his take on the entertainment media (or rather all media being turned into entertainment) and him depicting internet culture (or rather lack of it :oldrazz:) in early issues, but that is the only thing I did like and it was presented in such a blunt, in-your-face way (as much as everything in this mess, as a matter of fact) that it got old quickly. Inner monologue is so bad that it brings physical pain when reading, he still can't write a female character that doesn't behave like she mostly hangs out in the red-light district and I don't appreciate much all those islamophobic undertones, which are also, surprisingly, presented very bluntly. I guess it's indicative of the quality of current story when there's half of dozen covers on every issue, each depicting iconic moments from the original "The Dark Knight Returns".

I actually can't decide whether it's on same level of terrible or actually worse than "All-Star Batman and Robin".

Lets suppose that you were able every night to dream any dream you wanted to dream, and you would naturally as you began on this adventure of dreams, you would fulfill all your wishes. You would have every kind of pleasure, you see, and after several nights you would say, well that was pretty great, but now lets have a surprise, lets have a dream which isn't under control. Well something is going to happen to me that i don't know what it's gonna be. Then you would get more and more adventurous, and you would make further and further out gambles as to what you would dream, and finally you would dream where you are now.

People genuinely hate many of the DC films though. It's not always pettiness.

I dont find the hating petty.I find dragging a movie in your praise of another petty.

In her case, it's less about putting other movies down, and more about this movie not letting her down.

Why you can praise a movie without throwing shade at another. Its a cheap thing to do imo, and I've seen it happen so many times now.its not a one off thing.Saw BvS being dragged in reviews for "Angry bird movie". Whatever.

Jeez Louise, calm yourself, idiot. :funny:

I'm cheeling breh.

Daniel Eliesen on recent tweets about Lego Batman

Daniel Eliesen – ‏@Daniel_Eliesen

The #LEGOBatmanMovie is amazing. WB even pokes fun at itself in it but you can love the movie and not try and bring down the DCEU. Ugh.

Im quite excited to see Lego Batman. Any other film coming out in February that could be a theatre watch?

John Wick 2,

Actually comes out same week as Lego Batman so I'm debating which to see first

Im not that interested in pure action movies, so I will give that a pass. Im just so looking forward to Logan right now(and the JL trailer with it :P).

I do what i can.

One smoke at a time.

One punch to a bald bastahs face at a time.

One dancing lady at my doorstep.

Am I the only one who doesn't care about Lego Batman? I don't know, I'll probably watch it someday on Netflix or something if I'm bored but I'm not at all interested in a Batman comedy. My Batman broods 24/7.

And I know plenty of people who loved it. What does anecdotal evidence have to do with anything?

What anecdotal evidence? There is no such thing as evidence when discussing movies. Opinions on cinema are subjective and everyone has their own. I was just stating me and people I know and talk about films with didn't love it.

Incorrect, there exists a thing such as objective fact in relation to movies.

Not necessarily. Something may be objectively awful but you can always find someone who will find it fun or entertaining.

Hell, I know Wicker Man remake is awful but it's still one of the funniest films ever and I'd rewatch it over LLL any day :funny:
