Looks like Bruce Willis is actually trying

That alone excites me
Haven't yet gotten to the original Unbreakable, but looks like he could sleepwalk his straight-faced shtick & folks wouldn't notice.

rosebaum probably the best live action version of lex luthor overall for me.

enjoyed his voicework across the DCAU too.

clancy brown's lex in the dcau is the quintessential version for me though.

I recently tried to get into Smallville recently, but I couldn't even finish the first episode. Is it the type of show where you should skip a season or two to get the the good stuff?

Clancy Brown's Lex is GOAT. His speech in the Justice Lords episode is so great.

Not really. It's the type of show you either like or dislike. The early seasons go overboard with the meteor freak of the week formula and it's not until S3 or 4 where it really starts to delve into the Superman mythos, but I think if you can't make it past the first episode, it's probably not for you. That's my favorite superhero show ever, but I can't recommend it to anyone who is willing to give up on it after one episode.

I prefer the earlier seasons, but if you want the more out there material I would jump ahead a few seasons.

Start from Season Two, Three and then season Ten.

yea, he was great.

probably not an apt comparison, but i enjoyed watching the dcau lex like i enjoyed watching idris elba's stringer bell in The Wired.

yea, they're bad guys - but they're so ambitious and intelligent, and work so hard - you almost want to see them win.

That’s a crapload of lore to overlook. There’s too much filler on this show to do a full run through, but there are genuine gems sprinkled throughout the seasons.

I’ve been looking forever for a truncated guide, but it’s hard to do when even the filler episodes contain important plot points and lore building.

Not really. The pilot was its best episode, IMO.

Tweets take long to load for me, that's an issue I have with that site.

Starry Eyes

I admire the performance by Alexandra Essoe more than I liked the movie. One of them sell my soul in order to get fame and fortune type story. lol Knowing what we know of Weinstein now, it does kinda play like weird; Weinstein moment-mixed Illuminati type vibes in some moments. The ending was a bit of an eye roll, but Alexandra Essoe is the only recent why I kept watching.

Wishing Jared nothing but the best in his future endeavors
I hope he can join the club of CBM actors who have rebounded from a bad role with a great performance in another film.

He could be the best thing about the show.

It depends what you mean by "the good stuff". The first season is very episodic and very high school drama. It's a combination of Dawson's Creek, X-Files, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Veronica Mars, and Roswell. So it's heavy on the 90s and early 00s pop culture trends. These are some of my favorite episodes from the first season if you want to keep sampling:

"Hourglass" (S01E06)*
"Jitters" (S01E08)*
"Rogue" (S01E09)
"Leech" (S01E12)*
"Stray" (S01E16)
"Tempest" (S01E21)*
