Great CGI animation. I always wondered whether Toby ever tried those actual poses which Spider-man does while web-swinging through the City. For example, Superman actors have to practice flying poses while they are suspended by wires, they are also trained under-water to simulate flying poses..

From what I remember of his interview with Oprah for Spider-Man 2 he did a number of his stunts, so I think he and his stunt doubles did a few swinging poses.

I think he'd be better suited to a Scott Lang/Peter Quill character. Not sure I could take him serious as someone like Captain America... and yes, I have seen 13 Hours.

He's been doing more serious roles lately (13 Hours, A Quiet Place, Jack Ryan), so I can easily see him in a more serious role like the Batman. That being said, I agree with you. I don't really see him as a Bruce Wayne/Batman. He always came off as sort of an everyman to me. Not sure if he can pull off the intensity well enough, though I am happy to be proven wrong.

Now thats my Spiderman, thats what I grew up with. No offense to Holland but I feel Tobey and Raimi truly captured Spidey's essence and no one has been able to recapture it the same way they did.

Nah, they didn't capture the essence. There is still room for improvement, and I won't be getting it from MCU.

Today, in catching up with the classics: Chinatown.

I always find it interesting to watch these old movies for the first time and seeing all the tropes and things that now have become cliché, when they were still fresh and original, and also all the things that would definitely not pass today; this is another one of those movies that if it was made - as it is - nowadays would not be received the same way.

It just sucks that I was being constantly distracted by other things and it took me forever to finish it; had I seen it in one go I'm pretty sure I would've enjoy it a lot more by virtue of being fully immersed...oh well...

Spider-Man 2 is still one of my all time favorite superhero flicks. Maguire definitely wasn't the ideal Spider-Man IMO, but those films were superbly crafted. The train sequence is still masterful to this day.

Anyway, Trent Reznor is scoring the Watchmen TV series.

I see Pratt...I see Eastwood now that you mention it, but also see some RDJ there...

This makes me think of 80s/90s Peter, when - I feel - they were more willing to portray Peter as the ruggedly handsome type, same kinda vibe I got from the 90s TAS; now it's like they're completely against that and must always portray him as the super mellow, super geeky type, which I'm also not against.
