*Snorts the white powdered stuff from those tiny delicious donuts from 7=Eleven*

What if perpetual happiness in the Garden of Eden maybe got so boring that eating the apple was justified?

The machines send Schwarzenegger back to kill Sarah Connor so that John Connor can never be born. But if John Connor don't send Michael Biehn back to protect her then they never smash and John Connor ain't born in the first place.

Still at 70% I see. Honestly I hope the score drops to 69% and stays there.

I feel like Jason, being a total bro, would appreciate that. It would be nice indeed.

That's honestly the only time I've liked Mxy but that's because that episode is a goofball comedy. As for a full length live action film I think it would be awful. I personally never want to see Mxy in a film.
I was on the same boat as you, but I'd recommend reading Superman Reborn (in case you haven't), it might change your mind and see how he could be potentially very creepy and awesome on screen.

I like him because while he can give Supes things to punch, he can’t actually be defeated that way. And yeah, he can go from goofy to scary in two seconds flat when he reminds you how ridiculously powerful he really is. That much power in the hands of a being so seemingly carefree is a rather terrifying scenario, IMO.

Aquaman has everything I’ve ever wanted in a solo adventure

Heart, soul, likable characters I can get behind, the CG was top notch, Manta was SICK. The 3rd act is the best of any DCEU movie by a million and a half miles.....

Wan went for it and he hit one out of the park. Amazing how this felt bigger than the JL movie, but it did. He embraced the one thing that probably scared most filmmakers away from this project: the spectacle.

I wish more DCEU movies could be like this, because it really is the best they have to offer so far.

Damn right @Chip Chipperson . This movie rocked. Wan didn't hold back and gave it all he had. I'm sorry, I think these critics have a serious stick up their you-know-whats for this one. How does one sit during this movie with arms folded? I don't get it, I just don't. I'll be curious to hear from Hypsters who weren't to keen on the movie to hear that perspective. But I do not see how you can't come out of this with a smile on your face?

Also...imo...this kicked Wonder Woman's ass. Come at me.

I'd give it a light recommendation. Whereas WW was a homerun, this is a solid 2-base hitter. Not quite there, but it's on the right track.

None of the emotional or comedy bits really landed as much as I suspect they wanted, but that can be fixed in the future. Above anything else I want completely new screenwriter(s). There were more than a few moments the dialog got painfully bad, and I'm shocked Wan let that go through.

Seeing it again opening night with some friends, this time in IMAX. I'm looking forward to seeing the spectacle again. Wan definitely nailed that underwater look as far as it can be carried with today's tech, so that was appreciated.

They listened to everything fans and critics said. They honored the character, they gave him the suit, even gave us that glorious big manta helmet.

Just short of a white dude with blonde hair playing arthur, I’m not quite sure what else people wanted out of an Aquaman movie. We even got a taste of Wan’s horror roots in a certain part of the film which was sick.

The 3rd act was so sick, whereas in a lot of other DCEU films, especially Wonder Woman, fall flat.

Like, could the script have been better? I’m not sure, I felt like everything went pretty smooth, especially when the movie is almost 2 and a half hours long.

I get it to be honest, a more old school traditional, film art house type critic isn't gonna like it. I don't think there is any great mystery about it.

Watched it for the second time now, its everything I hoped ragnarok would be. Yes, it's infinitely better than that for me. Mamoa is perfect.

This definitely isn’t a movie for those types of people anyway.

But then again, i’m a simple guy who just wants to go to the movies to have fun and forget everything else for 2 hours. They listened to my complaints about the last few go-arounds and I appreciate the end product.

Oh, most definitely for me. There were some lines straight out of a children's book which made me eyeroll a few times. It'll play great overseas, I've noticed the simple movies do incredibly well out there.

It lost me around the middle, until just before the big finale (which I will say is definitely the best third act of any recent DC movie by far). I think there's a better, more streamlined version of this movie, with the help of a few passes in the editing bay. To his credit Wan genuinely did go for broke. I just don't think it fired on all cylinders.

The most important part is there's a foundation here to work from. For all my misgivings, none are dealbreakers to looking forward to a sequel.

Like when Snyder revealed that first pic of momoa a few years back, this is not the movie I was expecting to eventually happen.

But I’m so happy that it’s what we got.

How did it balance the drama with humor?

if they really take the negative feedback to heart the sequel could be sooooooo f'in great

not as much time on exposition
more black manta stuff
maybe some han zimmer

hope wan sticks around for at least a few more dc projects and some quality control feedback for other dc projects at WB, like how marvel do it

They need to call up Iko for a role in the Shang-Chi movie. I don't care if it's just a bad guy or supporting part. Disney, I know you got his number in your rolodex after you had him in that pointless Force Awakens cameo where he didn't even get to do anything.
