In a way, she was kinda one of the first female action stars. What other woman was leading so many of her own big budget movies? One can kinda point to Jolie with Tomb Raider and Wanted for a bit, but Milla got there first.

Cynthia Rothrock, I would say beat everyone to the punch surely.

Lawd. Classic Mortal Kombat moments.

Good sign at the theater this weekend was the audience absolutely loved the Shazam trailer. Everyone lost at it at phone charging gag. I think this one is gonna connect with a lot of people.
Ha, nice. If that does well too, then the DCEU is officially in rebound territory.

Even as early as 1997 in The Fifth Element. Her character is more memorable than Bruce Willis'.

I had forgotten about Kelly Brook for years, but then decided to check her insta. Goddamn. She wasn't like that, fam. God-bless her.

@flickchick85

Wears a black dress like one of them dames in a Glen Orbik painting. She wants to have a Hitchcock marathon with me, I shrug and oblige in a John Wayne sorta manner. ''You know he sexually harassed Tippi Hedren, he ruined her career''. I said. She hesitates to put in the vhs tape of 'Suspicion', but after a second thought, "If love can't live there," she responded in that Gene Tierney way of hers, "evil will do just as well."

"I know how you feel," I said. "We all feel like that at times. However, I must warn you, Madame, do not allow evil into your heart. It will make a 'ome there."

''What else should we watch then?'', she asked. ''How about a Powell and Pressburger film'', I said. Lovely! she said. ''Although, Powell did marry his younger cousin back in the day.'' I remarked.

She took a drag of her 10 inch cigarette, oh how she laughed.

Aquaman got snubbed?

Saw Aquaman on Sat and I'm going to see it again on Thursday in IMAX. Brief review: Overall it was a pretty entertaining film. I loved the 3rd act, and it met my expectations on what a James Wan CBM would look like. Visuals were great. Comedic parts were hit or miss and I found the score distracting. Certainly not my favorite DCEU film, but it's not bad at all. Second viewing may help solidify my thoughts though.

The #FilmExiles crowd is having a meltdown over this lmao.

I'd like to see Aquaman get a nod for costume design. Aquaman and Black Manta are two of my favorite designs in the whole DCEU.

I mean, them Planet of The Apes movies never won any oscar. Not nominated for BP or even an acting nom for Serkis. Tis' all you need to know, fam. Them snobs are still snobs, but the culture has twisted their hand to get more ratings. Now we will see more genre films, cbms get more love in the future.

Yeah it’s a joke that Aquaman isn’t on there

Gotta do a Michelle Yeoh rewatch.

Andy Serkis is definitely owed a lifetime achievement award at some point.

The snubbing of Annihilation is really glaring.

Ok, I ain't no mathematician nor am I privy to Netflix's profits but this is just INSANE:

Netflix Aiming to Release 90 Movies A Year, With Budgets Up to $200 Million

Seriously, someone needs to tell me where Netflix gets all this money from. Either its in tremendous debt that its not concerned about getting out from under or they're profiting billions each year from their subscribers and endorsements.
