First Man was another I was surprised to see getting nominations since it really flew under the radar. I remember so much pre-release awards hype for the movie and then it just petered out.

I really enjoyed First Man

They coulda made this flashy spectacle but chose to make something personal and covered a lot of the hardships they all went through to make those few historic moments happen. Claire Foy was great. The Goose was ok but that’s just what the character called for, a cold mostly reserved performance

I saw spider-verse yesterday

Am I a bad person for thinking all the miles stuff was just ok, but absolutely loved middle-aged peter? Like I couldn’t get the smile off my face every time he was on screen.

Why would you be a bad person for thinking that. lol Peter Parker is arguably the greatest comic book character ever created, you're more than allowed to like him better even in a movie where he's a supporting character.

Just saying, I know it was supposed to be Miles’ movie and all. But yeah, Pete really is the greatest character in comic book history, growing up as a kid in NY, it never fails to amaze me just how much of him I see in myself at times. Especially in the luck department. Lol.

I wouldn't go that far, but I enjoyed this version of Peter more than any other movie version. Middle aged, graying Peter Parker was an interesting way of pushing the character in unexplored territory and I was happy to see it. If they have to keep digging up the same characters over and over, keeping them fresh is key.

Go that far how, exactly

"I know this movie was important because it's about a black kid, but I liked the supporting white guy better." I immensely enjoyed the film's depiction of Peter, but not to that extent.

oooooooooooooooh boy I knew it was going to come to that eventually, alls I’m saying is that I really liked middle aged Pete a lot. That’s all. Nothing else, please don’t look any further into that than it needs to be. We’re heading to extremely sensitive territory here. Lol.

I'm not. I assumed that's what the "Does it make me a bad person that..." preface was about. I merely said no, but I didn't enjoy Parker to that same extent.

It wasn’t meant in that way, but instead in a “I liked the popular side character more than the main guy” sense

But it only hit me right after I pressed “post reply”

Regardless, it’s important to tread lightly in these specific areas, my friends. I am exhibit A.

I was surprised to see Venom was on Redbox (at Redbox? in Redbox?). Gonna watch it for the first time tonight.

It's out already? I just saw it passed another box office milestone earlier this week. That thing's a juggernaut!

EDIT: The marketing for this pic has been so wild.

Caught a bit of Ready Player One the other day and I still enjoyed it very much. Bald Spielberg and Superman just seems to make sense, but it just never happened for what ever reason. I find it kinda odd. Prime Spielberg in the 90s doing a Superman flick would've been pretty cool.
