I'm of the thought the new Joker going forward should be a woman. It just makes sense to me. It makes sense with both of their love/hate relationship between Bats and Joker. Lenny Busker from Legion is my female Joker ideal version. You also add a different dynamic to the relationship with Harley. We rarely see women being abusive towards their significant other on film. You just add a whole different layer to an already great character imo. Tis all i'm asking for to tryout just once, this is all. Eh.

Honestly, the only problem I'd have with that is that I'd take away one of the most enjoyable parts of their dynamic, to have Batman beat the ever-loving **** out of the Joker.

Like, imagine the interrogation scene in TDK, when Bats is losing it and beating the crap out of the Joker, as powerful and powerless as you can have them....but if that was a female Joker instead?? Nope. That wouldn't fly (nor do I think I'd want it).

Other than that, I'd be cool with a female Joker... it just takes away the aspect of Batman going brutal on him, and Joker not really fighting back because he enjoys it to an extend.

I saw someone recommend Grace Zabriskie for Granny Goodness and after Twin Peaks, I could really see it. She can be absolutely terrifying. Though I'm currently on the Ann Dowd train.

I think this property is the last thing WB needs to fast track given their track record with it. They had a popular actor attached to it last time too. I'm more counting on the fact that MBJ doesn't seem to be the type of guy who stars in something without believing in it, so they would at least try to make a good movie this time if he's on board.

With GLC they need to fully commit. This isn’t something you do by halves just because the time feels right.

Fast track might not have been the right word. I just mean they will likely prioritize it. Like if MBJ wants the role, it will not be difficult to assemble additional talent around him.

Mark Hughes suggested Cate Blanchet a few years ago and I loved that idea too.
