Justice League Lounge of Justice - Part 88

I mean, they're in a bit of a rock and a hard place right now. People blast them for not being transparent and I see a lot of calls for some sort of official slate, but then you remember they did the official slate thing before, and well...

Boy, I sure did love seeing the Flash last year! Can't wait for Justice League: Part 2 in a few months, that's gonna be epic. And all those set photos and cast interviews for Green Lantern Corps and Cyborg have been really encouraging. It's hard to believe they're gonna be out next year!

JL 2’s gonna make Endgame look like like preschool in comparison. :o

But in all seriousness, that sort of highlighted the issue for me. As the saying goes "No plan survives first contact with the enemy." They had their whole slate ready, plus side projects like the Ben Affleck Batman spin-off (which Variety was already talking about in late 2015), and all it took was one pivotal movie not getting the reception the studio anticipated to throw everything out of whack, including actors and creators involved walking away from the franchise or even getting fired, and multiple projects being pushed back or outright dropped.

There's gonna be skepticism no matter what they announce now, even if they did some sort of big "Phase 2" announcement at Comic-Con next month. You best believe there'd be all sorts of snark and sarcastic bets about how many of the announced movies would actually get made. At this point I just say release them and let the work speak for itself.

Looks like Sam Raimi's final swing influence extended to Aquaman with his final swim moments.
I liked this movie enough, don't love it, I am willing to watch it again.

Someone has actually seen GL 3 times? Not counting the memes, I haven't taken a single look at it since I saw it in theaters. Which I still regret spending my money on it.

Although its kind of ironic, BvS and JL failed and yet two phenomenons spun off from them (Wonder Woman and Aquaman). I mean that in of itself is unprecedented wouldnt you say? Normally when a movie isnt received well its an indicator that audience wants nothing more to do with anything from it yet audiences seem to love Gal and Jason.

An outlaw queen gave birth to her first born son on the surface, and then she gave birth to a king while she's outlawed.

I think I'm a bit dazed and confused, how does that work?

If it helps, after Atlanna left young Arthur, she went back to Atlantis. It was explained that she was a mentor of sorts for both Orm and Mera when they were young. She was also stranded for 20 yrs, not 30+. I think it was after the king found out somehow that she had another son that he banished her.

Atlanna was not outlaw at the beginning.

She ran away only not to marry the not king then, but she chose to come back to Marry the king hence became queen.

Atlantic only knew about Arthur later, and the she was executed.

If nothing else, I appreciated their passion for their respective characters.

Shame they never got a proper chance to work under better circumstances, but that’s life sometimes. Hopefully the next actor they pick for Barry actually gets his own film.

"I do not know what’s going on with it right now, honestly. And I don’t know if the DC people know what’s going on with it. Their strategy seems to change depending on how […] most recent movie did. But I can tell you that a script has been turned in that the director and producer, Greg Berlanti, has proclaimed himself to be very happy with. And it’s something that’s ready to go, but DC and Warner Bros. would need to give the greenlight to it. The ball is in their court."

But somehow rebooting everything will magically make things better

The same clueless bunch will remain in charge no matter what

This shocks you, huh? What if I told you there is someone who thinks this is a masterpiece and is far more impressive than the Avengers or TDKR?

I saw that. Made that comment before reaching that scene.

That first episode of Doom Patrol was awesome! I got the feels and everything, then again I knew I liked it since their Titans episode and the trailer sold me on it.

I have a question for those who've read the comics and seen the show; I bought the DP book by Gerard Way and Nick Derington a while ago, I just didn't get around to read it just yet, and I think I've heard this show is heavily influenced by that one, so for those who've read it and watched the show, which would should I go with first?? In terms of surprises being spoiled and whatnot, what do you think??

Scoopers like Mario, Richtman, etc have commeted lately how dead silent almost all sources have been lately. It seems like there is a significant effort to cut down on leaks from the studios.

What we Do in the Shadows series on FX is hilarious. I recommend it to everyone who liked the movie!

The show is influenced by all eras of Doom Patrol comics but more so Grant Morrison’s run from the late 80’s. Start there, but hold off until you’ve finished the show.

I saw the leak of Rambo: Last Blood trailer from Cannes... the director saw Logan then?! :funny:

Wow. Tom Yum Goong is f**king amazing.

What an awesome action masterclass from Tony Jaa. It has to be right up there with The Raid as one of the best of it's genre.

I also watched Wreck It Ralph 2 and it was very underwhelming.

I'm surprised that a beautiful movie like Smallfoot got snubbed (nomination for best animated movie) at the Oscars in favor of this mediocre WDAS offering.
