Lounge of Justice - Part 90

Not Bond.

The other theater chains are joining them, btw. Universal are the ones who ****ed up here. The theatrical window is a well-established agreement between the studios and NATO (exhibitors) that you don’t break under normal circumstances, for the good of the entire industry. They’ll backtrack.

Look up ‘Trevor Something- Fade Away.’

Basically his "Trevor Something Does Not Exist" album is worth checking out and his cover for Enjoy The Silence is pretty great.

Oh, also check out his video for "You Are My Obsession."

It's got... plot.

AMC will backtrack, especially since they already filed for bankruptcy. I wonder if that will impact them getting new movies to begin with. A local chain that I frequent filed for bankruptcy before all of this started and they were having trouble getting Disney and other studios to send them movies.

Quite a bit of plot indeed.

I'm reading the TROS thread and I regret going there (but I'm addicted!)

It doesn't even matter if I'm reading defense or criticism, either way I'll end up hating what Disney did to the franchise.

Nah, Universal’s already backtracking:

The studio’s missive said they “absolutely believe in the theatrical experience and made no statement to the contrary.” But, added Uni, “As we stated earlier, going forward, we expect to release future films directly to theatres, as well as on PVOD when that distribution outlet makes sense.”

Regal Owner Cineworld Chimes In On ‘Trolls World Tour’ Controversy – Deadline

None of their big releases will get a simultaneous VOD release once theaters open back up. Otherwise it won’t just be AMC who refuses to play ball with them.

Is that really a backtrack? Seemed like Universal made a general statement about releasing movies on both formats and then AMC lost their ****, forcing Universal to clarify.

I got no skin in this game really. It just never seemed like Universal was saying every movie will see a same day PVOD release.

damn, how will the fast familia recover from AMC's betrayal? how could they turn their back on family?

*sips corona unnamed beer in glass bottle*

"Backtrack," "clarification," whatever you want to call it - they're "fixing" their words so as not to suggest to exhibitors that they're gonna be breaking the window as a new norm as the trades originally inferred from the comments made. Jeff Shell made a stupid comment just lauding the success they've had with Trolls on VOD that he didn't consider the ramifications of, he got a handslap from AMC, NATO and Odeon, simple as that. Universal movies will still be released in theaters well ahead of VOD when things back to normal, AMC, Odeon and Regal will agree to show them on those terms, and the world will keep spinning.

So it's all just a big nothing burger is what you're telling me?

Living Single use to come on right after Martin it was a great show. It was like a young version of the Golden Girls mixed with Friends. Actually it was Friends before there was a Friends show.

i did read bout how friends might've even ripped off living single, at least the basic premise.

martin was a very funny show. martin lawrence on top of the world then.
seems like everyone in my junior high class use to quote from that show. lol

Mibbe he climbed up and sprayed some flammable Bat-gunk, mibbe the flying tumbler has a flammable Bat-gunkspray attachment, mibbe he hired some window washers to do it for him, mibbe he had prepared it years ago "just in case", mibbe it was done with mirrors, mibbe...

I dunno, and I don't think it really matters. To me it's a bit like asking exactly what physics are involved in Superman being able to fly. The answer to exactly how could someone do that is: they couldn't. It's a story about a superhero, if you come away annoyed because they managed to complete a seemingly impossible feat, you've missed the point.

ur on point bout how the fiery bat symbol works as psychological warfare and a rallying call for the good people of gotham (going back to what he said in batman begins about shaking people out of their apathy).

but i too, think bout the logistics of it, and it makes me laugh.

if he was scaffolding from place to place to spray it, it would take him HOURS if not days.

if he was using the bat plane, going back and forth, people would've take video of it and it would look like those alleged UFO footage we see.

LOL

So Martin is a show starring Martin Lawrence as himself?? Huh

I can see it being very popular at that time because Lawrence got top billing in Bad Boys over Will Smith. So Lawrence must've been the more popular guy back then.

yea martin lawrence was crazy popular back in the 90s.

fox tv had some of the most popular shows in the early 90s:
martin, in living color (jim carrey got famous from here), the simpsons, and the x-files.

I'll take your word for it but I don't know what Martin or Golden Girls is.
Golden Girls is a classic about a bunch of sassy senior ladies that re-introduced a whole new generation to the treasure that is Betty White.

And I guess more importantly in modern terms, it is the source of this gif:

You're a pal and a confidant

....and now the Golden Girls theme song is stuck in my head. "Alexa! Play the Golden Girls theme song"

MJ talking about getting Rodman out of Vegas and knocking on his room door, they cut to Carmen Electra talking about how she hid behind the closet door. Rodman doing his best Rick James on cocaine impression.

Carmen Electra still looks cute for her age.

Same here, unfortunately. I love TFA, still like Rogue One quite a bit and even love Solo. Not crazy about TLJ and I do like Rise of Skywalker a fair amount, but they really needed to plan out this trilogy better
