Lounge of Justice - Part 90

Lol I just seen that. It has The Rock's daughter from The Game Plan in it. I enjoyed the four theatrical ones. Can't bother with all those straight to video ones. They somehow still scored Eugene Levy to appear in those.

I lost track of these lol. How many are there altogether now?

I just counted nine lol.

Ha? If anything, the GL movie has only gotten closer to reality. Maybe 2024 at the earliest. Hal and John aren't in the show which is indicative to their plans for the movie.
I doubt it. The concept of a 'plan' is completely foreign to WB

:hehe: Besides, GL has always worked better on TV, and since there was no indication in the announcement that the show shares the same continuity with the movie, unlike GCPD and Peacemaker that were both confirmed to be prequels from the get go, it probably doesn't make all the sense in the world to exclude the most popular characters of the franchise from the show. Saw some "scoopers" claim the show would take the slow build with Hal and hint at him before introducing him later on but it makes little sense to me to have one of the most well-known Lanterns and not announce him from the beginning.

Moore speaks.

Most people equate comics with superhero movies now. That adds another layer of difficulty for me. I haven’t seen a superhero movie since the first Tim Burton Batman film. They have blighted cinema, and also blighted culture to a degree. Several years ago I said I thought it was a really worrying sign, that hundreds of thousands of adults were queuing up to see characters that were created 50 years ago to entertain 12-year-old boys. That seemed to speak to some kind of longing to escape from the complexities of the modern world, and go back to a nostalgic, remembered childhood. That seemed dangerous, it was infantilizing the population.

This may be entirely coincidence but in 2016 when the American people elected a National Socialist satsuma and the UK voted to leave the European Union, six of the top 12 highest grossing films were superhero movies. Not to say that one causes the other but I think they’re both symptoms of the same thing – a denial of reality and an urge for simplistic and sensational solutions.

Alan Moore Rare Interview: “Superhero Movies Have Blighted Culture” – Deadline

Moore has a reputation as a bitter old coot, but it's hard for me to hold it against him when he really has gotten screwed by both Marvel and DC. And he's correct about the industry's historically terrible treatment of creators.

One of the things nobody likes to talk or think about is that we live in this golden era of comic book adaptations where characters now regularly rake in billions of dollars at the box office and draw millions of viewers on TV and streaming, yet many of the writers and artists who created them died in poverty because there are no unions and work for hire means none of them saw a cut of any of that movie money.

Alan Moore might be an old man yelling at a cloud, but if you take the time to understand why, you might find yourself starting to yell at the cloud too.

You're right. There's no reason to exclude Hal or John since they could just cast different versions of them for the movie. Hamada said they're done limiting themselves so it'd work

Connecting the movie and show never made sense to me. What if the director of the movie wants nothing to do with the show? Forcing a connection would go against their "director driven" mantra

That may very well be true but isnt this the same guy who refused to even be credited on the Watchmen movie and even had his pay deferred to Dave Gibbons? In fact was he even credited on the recent HBO series?

Moore sounds like he’s against the very idea of a comic book adaptation. He hasnt seen a comic book movie since Burton’s Batman and im betting he didnt even like that one. He’s created all these seminal works and then gets bitter that people actually love them and wanna bring them to life so more people can discover them.

Or....maybe he saw what they were doing with LxG and thinks all comic book movies are like that. Lol

So there are reports that Trump had a plan that when he was leaving Walter Reed, he'd intentionally look frail and weak in front of the cameras only to then stand up straight and rip open his shirt to reveal a Superman t-shirt as a display of strength.

When you think the Lex Luthor comparisons can't get more on the nose.

Lol I seriously doubt that, but it would have been hilarious.

Anybody start watching Haunting of Bly Manor yet? The trailer didn't grab me, but I'm still curious, cause, you know, it's October and all.
I'm curious too. I haven't even seen The Haunting of Hill House yet.

Give it a few weeks. It will move. Unless the pandemic drastically improves over the next 6 weeks, its suicidal to release WW in theaters at Christmas.

I rarely reminisce about previous hnnngh in my life anymore, but a strawberry redhead from Soho popped into my mind out of the blue yesterday as I went for a scenic drive. Memory of her from 6-7 years ago. Reminded me of Faye Reagan. Old school brehs on here know! Freckles galore. Beautiful.
