Lounge of Justice - Part 90

maybe we were the aliens, all along.......

So why would anyone want to go see a movie in theaters now. Even without the pandemic, why would people choose to do that instead of watching it in the comfort of their own homes.

i still enjoy the theater experience.
but ain't worth the risk with this pandemic now.

and i'm psychologically preparing myself that the theater experience is probably over or near its end of life.

nothing good lasts.

some of my best memories are watching movies with my family in the theater.
lining up and waiting around the block for batman 1989.

i think those days are near gone now.

If not for the pandemic I would be all about the theatrical experience. It’s the only thing I truly miss about my “normal” life and can’t ever replace. Well that and concerts, but the theater thing runs a lot deeper for me.

I actually went to a theatre today to see The Trial of the Chicago 7 (great film by the way), was maybe twenty people in the screening.

I very much enjoy the movie theater experience.

I do too, but doesn't it kind of defeat the purpose of that experience by having it stream the same day. To me the main selling point of seeing a movie in a theater was that it was the first place the movie played and you either had to go see it or wait months for the home video version.

I don't want to see something, for example, of Godzilla vs Kong's scale on a small TV screen. Some films are just made for the movie theater experience. Dunkirk doesn't have the same effect of watching it at home as it does on the big screen.

i really miss going to concerts as well.
don't know when we can start going to concert venues again.

my friend jokes that by the time its OK to attend one again, my son will probably be old enough to be our designated driver.

give my kid the car keys while we order some beer, scotch and whiskey.
listen to some live music. then he can drive us drunken old bastards home afterward. lol

Sin City

Still one of the best cbms for me. Holds up nice. I have a feeling Snyder loves this flick too, but can't find any confirmation on his part. The sequel is ok, but mostly worht a watch for Eva Green.

Low key, people dog on the sequel but the main story with Eva Green and Josh Brolin was so damn good. The other segments arent as good though.

Eh, for me it's not really about that. It's about the immersion of it all. The massive screen, the sound. It's the one time in my life where I'm never tempted to look at my phone or get up to move around. I'm just completely in it. I can't replicate that kinda sensation at home.

Yeah, they've got it wrong, Studios should still wait for at least 3 weeks before releasing it on streaming.

Same day release (theater & streaming) is not going to work because of piracy, why would you pay for a movie if you can watch it for free is what many people around the world would think.
