Lounge of Justice - Part 90

Yeah Dark fate’s numbers are looking BAD. I think the franchise will for sure go dormant after this.

I was talking to my buddy last night. Guy just snagged a solid role in a major ensemble franchise. I was asking him what it’s like stepping into something like that with all the fan expectations.

He tells me that he isn’t doing his job if he’s trying to make fans happy. His job is to make the director happy. Even if he doesn’t always agree, he’s still there to service the director. And he just trusts that the finish product will ultimately deliver.

It was an interesting response that I’m not used to hearing when actors take on these kinda roles. But he was also talking to me as a friend and not as like THR or something lol.

The reddit user who originally leaked the news about GL on HBO Max tweeted that he was wrong about the show using Kyle Rayner and apparently they haven't decided which would be the main character(s) yet. The show also doesn't seem to have a showrunner yet. He also claims there are no plans to connect it to the Arrowverse and they're currently thinking of possibly connecting it to Titans, similar to the way Titans and Doom Patrol are connected while still taking place on separate Earths.

Also, according to him Alan Scott wasn't initially allowed to appear on Stargirl because of this show, so he thinks he will most likely show up in some capacity, while budget is expected to be around 150-170M.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Jessica and Simon as the leads, with appearances from others like Guy, Rayner, etc.

My friend is on one of the worst rated netflix shows. He still had a blast tho. lol

I'd be interested in hearing how this response changes if/when your friend's doing press. Though, it's not that far off from responses I have heard in interviews. Like I remember a couple castmembers of GoT saying they didn't even read the books because they wanted to stay true to the scripts and directors' vision instead.

That's what I'm thinking too. Use the lesser-known Lanterns on the TV show, leave Hal and Stewart for the movies.

Was this friend's name Bobert Rattinson?

He's right tho. Keeping the fans happy is nice PR work and gives you positive buzz, but at the end of the day if the product speaks for itself as a good film, it'll win people over regardless. I still see people freak out over really minor things on nearly every superhero movie that gets released nowadays, and with a few exceptions, most of the backlash usually ends up amounting to nothing.

To old for the role and not bust enough for Power Girl.

Melissa Benoist is older than her. And she's not really that "busty" either.

If PG ever graces the silver screen, you can be sure it won't be with a considerable chest and definitely not with that costume.

Henry said when him and Zack disagreed on Superman and how he would say something or do something, they'd settle it by a push-up off but ultimately, he gave Zack what he wanted.

I finally watched the new Witcher trailer. Eh, I didn't hate it. I will give it a shot. Hell, can't be worse than 'Carnival Row'.

Carnival Row felt like them writers had an old english type love story setting first. Some war vet and his tough but still hot tomboy gf, but decided it was too bloody boring, so they just went and made them fairies and one of the black brehs a goddamn goat man for some reason. The original actress that played Khaleesi in the GoT pilot is also here, but still undecided if she is a good actress or not.

I'm not crying, you're crying. Buying this tune off Amazon and THEE best Superman theme mashup I've ever heard. Check it out.

Who’s this reddit user and what’s his twitter account?

He seems to have certain level of credibility since he previously leaked the Titans S2 episode titles and he said it himself that he was wrong about Kyle being the main character. I don't remember the last time someone leaked something big and then shortly afterwards came out and said he got something wrong. That usually happens when someone more credible calls him out on it, but its unusual to see somebody like that do it himself. Hope he's onto something.

They got Geralt in the bathtub, so that was what I was looking for.

Not really.

28M DOM 1M above Genysis and around 105M worldwide with only 28M from China that had a few companies sponsoring it, likely to finish below 250M worldwide and 300M tops, on a 185M budget that needs something like 500M+ to break even, Paramount could lose over 100M over this lol

Unless they think it's James Cameron taking the baggage from the previous 3 installments and willing to give the franchise another shot to see if DF can rebound the next one.

I guess now Hollywood will finally realize the franchise lost its luster long ago. When a comparatively better received sequel, with both Cameron and the original stars returning, still results in a box office failure, that shows the series should've remained terminated. Let it rest now, it had a good run that more than outstayed its welcome.
