Lounge of Justice - Part 90

Many people complained against Joss Whedon, Jon Berg and Goeff Johns they cannot brush it under carpet.

Cynically, I actually wouldn't be surprised if that's exactly what ends up happening, tbh. I could totally see a situation where the "investigation" just goes on and on without resolution until most people aren't paying attention anymore.

Look what happened with the Ellen investigation. All that buzz and so far all that's happened is some of her producers got axed. And she's someone who has had stories about her being an absolute ogre to her employees floating around for years.

As for Ezra's case, I wouldn't be against a recast. WB have no control on how actors behave in their own life, but if the actors get arrested and convicted then they have to act and take action (like fire them)

But without any legal sentence, is it OK to fire them ? (For Amber Heard, Johnny Depp and Ezra Miller)

Firing based on flimsy evidence sounds like a slippery slope.

But WB (Studios) have to ensure that the work environment on sets of their movies is not toxic, if they do receive complaints then it's their duty to act.

Many people complained against Joss Whedon, Jon Berg and Goeff Johns they cannot brush it under carpet. It's a case of unprofessionalism with co-workers.

If they think an employee (actor, etc) can hurt them financially or will be a distraction, they can let them go.

Think Disney with Gunn. No laws were broken but they wanted to avoid the PR issues. I remember Chris Hardwick being removed from Talking Dead when allegations came up and he was brought back after the internal investigation showed there was no evidence of wrongdoing.

Ugh, the internet is down. And I don't even known for sure if it's just me or the area, though likely the latter. It had better be fixed before 1 pm tomorrow.

Justice League forum, Lounge thread. "Lounge" means anything goes, chit-chat about whatever, as long as it's civil and appropriate to SHH rules.
So it should be about "anything Justice League" not pages of Marvel talk.
If I wanted Marvel I'd go to the Marvel threads.
Why even have a Justice League Lounge if not to talk anything Justice League?
Thats silly.

Mainly because most of the people on the JL forum are DC fans, so there's a common interest/bond. So effectively it's a place where people who discuss DCEU/DC related stuff can also chill out and discuss any other topics amongst each other.

This isn't the Justice League General Discussion thread. That's for discussing all things JL-related (in the case of this board, that's what the "Zack Snyder directing JL" thread has become). This is the lounge for fans who regularly post on the JL board to discuss whatever they want to discuss. Including Marvel. if you don't want to partake, don't.

Speaking of Marvel, do we expect New Mutants to be good? The director says that the movie is what he intended to make (the studio-mandated reshoots never happened) but the short running time makes me worry.

I expect it to be an interesting watch and think I'll enjoy it at the very least more than the most recent X-films.

Not screening for critics is rarely a good sign, but who knows with this pandemic.

So looking forward to Wonder Woman trailer today but not looking forward to them probably changing the release date again :/
Yeah, I can’t wait for it. I’m really expecting this film to outdo the original.

One of the biggest complaints about first one were CGI sets/too much of it but this time they went practical. It's gonna be so amazing

I’m really looking forward to seeing Magik however the film turns out.

Yeah, it could be a big upgrade visually. I also like the new setting away moving away from Word War I (and just happen to be a big fan of the 80s). It’s great having someone in charge we can trust and the success of the first film allowing Patty to really go for it this time. Also there are no uncertainties over whether Gal can live up to the character now, we totally know she can. The one thing I would really love to see more of (even if it doesn’t happen in this film) is the other Amazons. A show based on them would be awesome.

I really loved the leaked plot and I also really like the idea of more practical effects, so basically, the only thing I can imagine hampering my enjoyment of it at this point is if I don't like Cheetah. But I'm optimistic on that front, too, based on the art we've seen.

I know super moderator and better fan than all of us, batfreakforever, said not to talk about anything MCU, but what do we think about Chad Stahelski potentially directing the upcoming Blade movie? Stylistically, I couldn’t think of a better choice.

Oh, I haven’t read that. Will have to have a look for it. I’m hopeful on Cheetah and think she could make for some great fight scenes. Also I’m a fan of Pedro Pascal and hope he gets good material too.

I'd definitely be on board for Stahelski on Blade.

I liked the villains in first movie and thought the movie itself cleverly made war itself a villain but it looks like both new villains are gonna be a lot of fun to watch, Pedro always delivers and Kristen was really good in everything I saw her in

I wasn’t all that keen on what they did with Ares so there’s even more room for improvement on that front for me, and I’m optimistic for both the new villains. I feel like this film will have the shackles off and Patty can really go to town. WW as a character could have a lot of momentum with the GA after 84.

Yeah, I’m totally on board. The action scenes are going to be amazing.

Speaking of which, the PS4 Spider-Man game feels like a blessing and a curse at the same time. Why? Because it makes me realize on how much potential has been wasted with the MCU Spider-Man. I get that Feige wants the MCU version to feel different from previous incarnations.

However, I feel like they've deviated so much from the established mythology that I don't connect with Tom's Spider-Man as much. Don't get me wrong; Tom is GREAT in the role. I love what he brings to the table. My issues mainly stems from how the MCU Spider-Man (and his villains) have been stuck under Iron Man for the past two films.

I want to see Tom's Peter Parker actually join the MCU version of the Daily Bugle and actually interact with the characters there. Plus, I'm just not a big fan of the MCU's take on MJ.

Hailee Steinfield is definitely my preferred choice for the role.

I've said it before, the writers of the PS4 game need to be doing the movies.

And not that I ever really do fancasts, but Kat Mcnamara would be my pick for an MJ.
