Lounge of Justice - Part 90

Tis' why I started using a Mod representative for some time now to look at some pics/gifs that I post. If they give me the ok, ya'll see the hnnngh gifs/pics and even some vids here or there. I honestly don't know how that Ana de Armas v Margot Robbie thread stayed opened. Lord knows there has been more than a few pics of Neiva Mara, which I wanted to post, but didn't get the greenlight.

It is what it is.
mod mob ties.

when it comes to the mother boxes, they were all asleep from the moment darkseid left earth. the boxes had no idea about superman. maybe when Dr silas used his to make cyborg, that one mother box wake up and during its creation of cyborg found out about superman and was scared for reasons and went back to sleep. the other two never woke up. the one with the amazons woke up but the one with the Atlanteans is not shown waking up.

the in word logic of the mother boxes is not great. its one of the many thing one has to close their mind to to enjoy the film

That's what it was. Silas woke it up when he used it on Victor. Then, in checking out the world, it saw there was a Kryptonian protecting the planet and noped back to sleep. Superman's death scream let let it know it was safe to wake back up.

The more confusing thing to me is how it was a surprise to DS that the boxes and anti life equation were on the planet he had already been to.

I think it was mentioned in interviews that following his getting whooped and sent back to Apokolips, the loss of the Mother Boxes and the revolt he faced sent their world into a sort of dark age.

Without the Mother Boxes they'd relied on, information was lost, navigation scrambled, and the Mother Boxes along with the coordinates of Earth couldn't be recovered.

If my memory serves me correctly of course.

So after putting it off for months, I've finally watched Superman and Lois.

And honestly...
I really enjoy it. As a lifelong Superman fan who's been itching for some substantial content on TV since the days of Smallville (Supergirl doesn't count, I'm talking about a show centered on Clark himself), this has more than satisfied that itch.

Also, as a fan of Zack Snyder and Cavill's take, I can't help but notice this show presents a story that feels very post-JL trilogy. What with Superman being a dad, settling down with Lois on the farm, and having years of experience under his belt. Even stylistically, it takes a lot of cues from the DCEU Superman.

I'm a little late to the party, but I'm glad I finally gave it a shot.

But they would still know it was Earth, right? Once Steppenwolf knew he was on Earth, wouldn't they know this was the location?

It's just one of those things you gotta accept about the movie. It doesn't really make sense, but is it enough to break you outta the plot? Maybe so, maybe not. I was good with it, but I fully admit I go into these sorta flicks always expecting that level of suspension of disbelief.

I love No Way Home intensely, but there is a lot about that movie that doesn't really make sense. But I enjoy enough of what's happening around those gaps in logic that it's fine in the end.

Yeah except it actually fills in the gaps of the story by showing Superman/Clark as a full character. Superman in this is what Superman should have looked like in the Snyder films if Snyder knew how to tell a story better. Plus, Tyler is just better in the part.

If MOS had showed more of this type of stuff (Superman and Lois with a real relationship, Clark as part of the community) it would be beloved by the rest of the GA as much as some of us like it. MOS was missing the heart and Superman and Lois is all about the heart.

my take on this is that:

- the last time they arrived and lost on earth was a few thousand years ago and the geography on earth has changed substantially then. it's full of cities now when before it wasn't. the place looks unrecognizable from their last memory.

- also DS mentions the multiverse, so there must be thousands if not millions of planets across different universes. who is to say there aren't parallel or similar planets to earth?

- also as @Elysium94 mentioned, with the motherboxes hidden, they lost the exact coordinates to the specific planet.
to them, earth is just one of an infinite # of primitive planets to conquer.

The dude who told everyone Henry was on set filming for Flash tryna walk it back now. Grifters, y'all.

Following up on Superman and Lois, I'm wondering what other Superman villains they'll introduce in future seasons.

As the CWverse Superman is said to have fought (and killed) Zod, I'm hoping to get a flashback or even episode devoted to that.

And although he was recently featured in Krypton, I'd love to see Brainiac featured. With the budget Superman and Lois has compared to other CW shows, imagine what they could do.

Gonna be hard to top Krypton's take.

Turn the color off on your TV and watch it in black and white. They re-released it in b&w theatrically for a reason! Gorgeous.

From Ezra Miller’s Instagram story:

He’s either hinting that Affleck isn’t done with the role, or he’s legit just trying to messing around. Either way, I’m kind of confused.

Given the KKK rant it's almost definitely the latter. I wanna try whatever Ezra's taking before posting; seems fun.
