Lounge of Justice - Part 90

Army of the Dead isn't a B movie. It is certainly not a good movie, but $90 mil budget is not low for a horror flick.

It sure looked and sounded like one. Just because Netflix blows through money like they are laundering it doesn't make any of it quality. ;)

How about I say he made a direct to video quality film on a real budget?

I mean look, I get you hate Snyder now and I’ll be straight with it and say I didn’t like the movie. But it looked like an expensive zombie flick to me. And it was maybe the most expensive zombie flick after World War Z. There was nothing B or DTV about it. Production value was not the problem with AotD.

Length, bad dialogue, and illogical plot point were the real killer. For me at least.

But also, being a B or DTV flick shouldn’t be an insult anymore. Those have been many of the best flicks in recent years. Come back to the light my breh! You can still hate Snyder’s. movies over here too. @MbJ and @flickchick85 will keep you company. Me, @chintai80, and @Black Narcissus will also pop in occasionally with wine and assorted cheeses.

i enjoyed army of the dead a lot. lol.

none of my friends did. i stand alone and that is ok.

it's basically a trashy mix of escape from new york + land of the dead.
nothing more, nothing less.

i did like how snyder seemed to be experimenting more with his stylistic choices.
the colors and how he blurs the background at some shots.
it was weird, but i like.

i liked dave bautista's acting in this. he's grown as an actor.

i still need to watch army of thieves.

speaking of assorted cheeses, my wife recently bought this variety pack of brie from trader joe's.
i like brie, but only in doses.
she told me to eat as much as possible because it was to expire soon.
i am now brie'd out.

I honestly don't hate him...I just have soured on 2 of his flicks. I still love MOS and 300 and Watchmen was decent. His Dawn of the Dead was very good and made me look forward to AOD. (I dont like most zombie flicks outside Night of the Living Dead so that tells you something) I tried watching Army of the Dead and I just couldn't. Something was just off. I thought it looked and felt second rate and kind of trashy. YMMV.

I love a lot of DTV/B Movie stuff so it wasn't a full on insult. Hell I think going to Netflix was his smartest move ever and said so long before I went sour towards him. I don't think he is a theatrical movie maker in the current climate. Controversy is just not conducive to big numbers. Controversy on streaming though is perfection. People will watch something controversial if they don't have to pay for it.

I’m just teasing my man. I do fully understand and agree with like 60% of a lot of your grievances. I still like most of his stuff but I ain’t ever gonna die for any of the mfs films ya know? So I do get and respect your thoughts.

I do wanna support a black-owned business. And as a marketer this definitely opens up some interesting possibilities. But, I just don’t know. I don’t even look at my own agency’s ads that much. I ain't tryna have my eyeballs tracked.

Oh we are good buddy :)

They just constantly set themselves up for so much obvious disappointment. Like, they got their movie. Don’t get greedy now.

That was always bound to happen, even when they claimed its just about this one movie.
Because Snyder himself kept constantly going on about how he teased this and that.
I wonder if WB really realized what they did when they greenlit the snydercut or if they really thought people would settle down after it.

Hold up, “The Black Adam Universe” ? This is supposed to be in the DCEU right?

Listen I’m all for the multiverse Shenanigans, but man, why does everything have to be so confusing sometimes

So, Is Hamada-verse is looking good ? :o

I think he probably just meant the characters orbiting Black Adam, in the same way you might call Batman, his sidekicks and rogues a Batman universe.

Looks pretty cool to me. Agree, can’t complain about that Hawkman design.

God damn, Black Adam rises so fast in my Ranking...the JSA looks fantastic...this all looks so great.
We are eating Good this year.

black adam looks pretty cool. dr. fate!

need to see more flash and aquaman.
i'm not too excited for the flash.

I’m actually a little disappointed Denis isn’t involved, and that Ridley is taking such a big role. Guy has completely lost his touch with Alien, hopefully that isn’t the case here

I like Raised by Wolves.

I too would rather have Denis...BUT I'd also rather Denis remains occupied with the Dune-verse for the next couple years.
