if you actually read the article, he says that "We’re basically going to do The Phantom Menace. People’s expectations are way higher than you can deliver. It just means that expectations are going to be through the roof, like with TPM.

Speedballlives gave the right post where Lucas explained why he's using the Phantom Menance analogy.
It's because of the expectation and that they really need to work on how to market/deliver/hype this movie. Overhype can kill a movie.

Besides even if the Phantom Menance reference is to be taken literally , you guys fail to see the one factor that will make sure this flick ain't gonna be Phantom Menace :
