Lucifer Lucifer General Discussion

Not to mention that their data showed that live viewers only accounted for 30% of the show's overall audience.

"Supernatural" getting a little dig at "Lucifer" in the last episode. Sam talking to Lucifer about what happens if he lets him out of a cage that has trapped Lucifer. He says he is not sure...maybe he will go to LA and solve crimes. :)

Tomorrow night is the night, folks.

Hopefully X-Files is a big hit and gets a lot of people to sample Lucifer.

It'll be interesting to see how this pilot differs from the leaked one.

I think that was more promo than a dig.

So far, I kind of like it. The actor they got for Lucifer is great. And there is plenty of other biblical mythology that it will definitely keep me interested.

Was this different that the one that leaked months ago?

Didn't bother watching. Trailer and commercials just didn't make it look like something worth checking out.

Guess I'll check out the next episode next week then

I watched and enjoyed the leaked pilot back then. I'll surely watch this at least for a couple episodes and see how it turns out.

Jesus, I'd seen so many promos for this thing, I thought it'd premiered already and this was another season coming. Decent enough of a watch. Strong lead.

No major difference from the leaked version, right? Anything that warrants re-watching the new episode?

Nothing jumped out at me. The font on the intro text is different, and they updated the year from 2015 to 2016. Nice new title screen. Maybe some effects looked a little more finished.

I saw the first episode, looks like a fun show ( I didn't read the comic book ), the duo has charm and their banter works well.
I smiled at the exchange between Lucifer and the little girl at the school and the scene afterward with her mother.
If I'm not mistaken Lucifer drives a black Corvette same model as the one in Riptide ( I think ).
I checked the show on IMDB and there are several threads about the "controversy" raised by the 10K MOM thing, many of these threads looked like troll bait to me tho.

Don’t know the comic book(s). But I thought the pilot was enjoyable - though (as noted) it pretty much relies on Tom Ellis’s performance.

Dude, you should check out the comic in its collected editions.
Definitely worth a read - if you've read and enjoyed Gaiman's Sandman, this is a bit less esoteric but great fun and along the way it asks some questions about the basic assumptions we make about free will and life in general. The storylines are a bit convoluted, but it reaches an ultimate conclusion that's pretty satisfying.

As for the show, yeah it was funny and reasonably entertaining, but definitely relied greatly on a strong leading man.

Not sure if I'll make it a weekly thing, but I'll definitely check it out from time to time.

I enjoyed it. I don't know if I'll be watching every week since I prefer more serialized shows, but it was fun for what it was

Tom Ellis is pure charisma. I feel like even if I don't care for the weekly case/cop aspect, I'll still stick around for his performance.
