Lucifer Lucifer General Discussion

Showrunner says that Jeremy Davies is on tonight's episode.

Tom Ellis is definitely the reason I will keep on watching this. So entertaining.

Watched the first episode.....I'll just rewatch the wire to get that bad taste out of my mouth

I thought this was a good episode, lots of laughs. Turning that fake preacher into a true believer was hilarious. His reaction to the detectives kid was priceless, probably because it's my reaction to dogs. Like get this mongrel off me, so that had me in stitches. I do wonder if they are building up to a showdown or will it stay self contained.

Pretty good follow up episode though the finale was needlessly convoluted. Also, she's moving close to the secret too soon. Would have liked to have her visit the guy in the asylum some episodes later. But that's a minor complaint. The lead actor is very good.

I wasn't familiar with Lucifer at all. I didn't even know it was a Vertigo Property until Zordan pointed out.

So far I am loving the show.

I love the comic book. It is one of my all time favorite comics. I love the various settings, the characters, and how much of a brilliant and ******* protagonist Lucifer Morningstar is... Mike Carey nailed him

With all that in mind, this show makes my skin crawl.

Just saw the first episode. Quite enjoyed it. Will try too catch up. How many episodes in is it?

Episode 3 airs tomorrow night after X-Files. There will be 13 total this season.

Anyone notice the fixer's name was Ronnie Hillman (same name as the Denver Broncos running back) in this episode? With it being a football themed episode, I can't imagine that's a coincidence. I'm a Broncos fan so it jumped right out at me.

Another strong episode.

really enjoying this show so far, and i wasn't sure i would. ive seen the first two eps so far. i didn't know this was based on a comic when i initially heard about it, but the premise and the lead's charisma left me interested enough in checking it out. i was hoping that all his good stuff wouldn't be only in the previews and i'm relieved to say it wasn't. he's great as Lucifer, very charismatic on screen and fun to watch. he flips flops between good and bad very well. just when you start to think he's not so bad, he reminds you why he's the devil lol.

are we going to do episodic threads for this show? or keep it all in here

The casting is very good and the chemistry between the leads is stellar, but at heart this seems just to be another procedural police drama with "the excentric genius partnering up with the by-the-books officer". There is a lot of competition over that dead horse.

I'm hoping they will be able to transcend this. I'm not giving up on watching it.

i feel like that's going to be part of the story for a while, because solving these crimes and punishing the guilty seems to be what's driving him for now.

im enjoying his "sessions" with the psychologist because she's really hitting the nail on the head i think and it's pretty interesting

Enjoying it. It's a bit of fluff at the moment. Think it will probably get a bit deeper in the 2nd season if it's renewed as they will have an audience and will hopefully get a better budget. Would love to see Constantine appear, even a few seconds cameo.

I'm sure that Tom Ellis is elevating the plot infinitely! I thought it was an okay episode outside of Lucifer but boy does he hit his scenes outta the park!

Random confession : I love Chloe, the actress ( never saw her before ) + the character KO'ed me.

I like Tom Ellis and Lauren German in general and they're essentially what have made the first three episodes watchable (haven't seen the fourth yet). The pilot felt much more tightly written/plotted than the second and third episodes. I like both actors' interactions with the daughter of German's character as well.

Definitely not a great show. Not terrible either. Out of all the current DC shows, I don't like it as much as Gotham or iZombie (neither of which I even love, I just liked them enough to make it through the first season of each from beginning to end... but haven't bothered to watch any of their second seasons yet). I do prefer it to everything in the CW/CBS universe, though. That's not saying much, however, as I strongly dislike those shows.

There were quite a few great moments in the episode ("Miss me?" LOL) and a really awkward problem for Lucifer right in the end.

Also, that face when she sees Lucifer's junk. Priceless!

she and Ellis have great chemistry together. i've never seen her in anything either, but she's pretty great so far. it's nice to see an actor with a wide gamut of facial expressions. you could make a ton of reaction gifs from her just from these first 4 episodes alone lol

Exactly ! I like that too, it makes her character even more lovable.

I think last episode was the weakest so far. The show is settling down into teasing the audience while nothing happens and it ticks off one boring police procedural after another.
