I do hope he stays around. But if he doesn't at least we will see - hopefully - his force ghost.

after the weight loss, he looks decades younger. This is how he looked like in 2012:

THis is him in 2015:

Mark is always dressed in black lately..I hope Luke is still as well. Maybe he's wearing black in public to maintain the mystique of his character...

It is incredible what exercise, diet and nutrition can do!

the black leather jacket does make him look younger. :word:

He looks like 90's Mark Hamill!!!! :wow:

He looks incredible. TFA was the best thing that could've happened to him right now, for a couple of reasons. Hamill's awesome.

While I prefer the Jedi Master Beard, I'd love to see him in a flashback or something, in between RotJ and TFA showing him with a look like this cap.

I wonder if Luke will have a beard in Force Awakens considering that it's been 30 years since the events of Return of the Jedi and it is 30 years later so it would make sense for him to have a beard and look Zen-like

He grew out a beard for the role.

Back in November:

I wonder if he shaves at the end of The Force Awakens. Or if he keeps the beard throughout the whole film. I do really like the beard though! But he still looks great without it.

With the beard it makes him look more bad ass but if he shaves it off near the end of the film then I am fine with it

A post-chaos scene like at the end of ESB where Luke is getting his new hand but a scene where Luke is clean shaven with the new cast going off to some new adventure is what I wanna see.

If we have to change his look, keep the big beard and hair, but have it less wild than his "exiled/guarding the tomb" hair and beard. He should keep both though. More Jedi Master-ish.

But as I say, I'd love to see the clean shaven look (like the video above) for a flashback/vision/holocron recording from Luke in-between RotJ/TFA.

People seem to forget Hamil went from having a well kept bear to a mangy mess by the end of filming. It's likely the beard is used to show how isolated he's been and those early scenes were filmed last. Sort of like how Hugh Jackam's shirtless scenes in X-Men were filmed last to allow him time to bulk up for the role despite his late casting.

I hope Luke does not turn to the dark side, or die in episode 7.

"Believe me, it will be here before you know it. Forget about it, that’s my advice. Look forward to all the summer movies. I’m telling you, it’s just a movie. These people that build it up in their minds like it’s going to be the second coming of, I don’t know what — they’re bound to be disappointed."

Wise words from the Jedi Master, himself. I've been taking that advice for months. :woot:

Still,it is tough to not be excited. I almost can't believe I'm gong to see Luke Skywalker on the big screen again in my lifetime..:awesome:

That just goes with anything. I have a strong feeling that TFA will be a superb film, (haven't felt this way since TDK) and amazing. But I try not to create a checklist of what I want to see and don’t want to see. Which something many on the internet do. It happens where people create the film in their head how they want it to go and if it does not they cry foul. Nothing wrong with having huge expectations of something just being overall great. But I think he’s talking more about the Internet forum dweller that creates a checklist or send drones out to spy on them lol. Or the PT fans that just will thumb their nose at it because GL is not there anymore. Be open and ready is how I do it. I look for the overall product afterwards.

I think what Mark is saying is very sensible. Keep your expectations in check. A lot of people didn't do that with the PT and should have learned by now a SW movie isn't exactly a life changing experience. I'm going in expecting a good movie (hoping for a 'great' movie) but not expecting a religious experience. If after I see it,the pros outweigh the cons,I'll consider it a success and not before.

Mark's right. Doesn't mean that the still mixed reception of the PT wasn't justified.

Mark looks amazing in that clean shaven shot; really rolled back the years with that weight loss. Between this and the Flash, this years shaping up to be one helluva Hamillaissance.

Yeah, the massive hype of the PT is not what hurt those films, it was just the films themselves. I always judge a film in finality afterwards, but I can get excited, and disconnect that every time I see a film. It will be a huge deal though to see a well made SW movie again.

As for Mark rising in stardom again, hell ya. I have always loved Mark and it's cool to see him in the limelight once again.
