The Force Awakens Luke Skywalker - Mark Hamill

That sucks but maybe at least using the saber against Knights in the beginning or end

Hamill-Luke only has a cameo at the end. That's it. He's missing the entire movie and they're looking for him. He's the McGuffin; well, his absence is.

I just hope that Luke's skills with a light-saber haven't diminished as a result of
of his long absence.

lol; now there's a thought.

I'm really hoping that we'll get to see Luke slowly rebuild the Jedi Order for the rest of the new trilogy though.

I actually want to see Luke lead a group of his own trained Jedi against the Knights of Ren for Episode 9.

As a movie fan, Luke will do what's asked of the script and the themes it serves.

As a fanboy, give Luke 2 sabers and have him f**k up half a First Order Legion. And have the fight not last 2'' like Anakin's in AotC.

Something tells me [BLACKOUT]Rey won't find Luke alone at the end of TFA.[/BLACKOUT]

I'd rather Luke not need a saber to be honest, for example if he were ever to have to fight Kylo, I would hope he just dismantles Kylo's lightsaber with the force. That would be infinitely cooler than a lightsaber battle imo, plus it wouldn't need Hamill to try and act like a master swordsman.

First off, bear in mind that [BLACKOUT]Luke won't appear in the final battle of TFA, so he won't be facing Kylo[/BLACKOUT].

Secondly, if Luke's THAT powerful, they either have Snoke be even more powerful, or the trilogy's gonna be boring... or, worse, sloppy in how they'll have look not intervene throughout the movies.

Either way, though, Luke vs Kylo might be too one-sided to happen.

Yep. Yep. Yep.

The ending I've had in my head for ages now, once we knew [BLACKOUT]Rey would seek Luke out in the end, I pictured and ending in which she lands at Skellig and walks over to a smiling, robed man about 30/40 years old, who points her up the rocky stairs. She ascends uncertainly and looks around, spotting a few more men/women/aliens around, looking at her with welcoming/proud expressions. She sees a cloaked figure at the top of the stairs, he removes his hood (but we don't see his face yet), she hands him the blue Lightsaber-- The Luke smiles at her, puts his hand on her shoulder and they turn to the waves crashing against rocks in the distance---IRIS OUT![/BLACKOUT]

Couple that with a Williams score, we've really got an ending there.

[BLACKOUT] The Academy massacre puts the other "Band of Jedi" members in doubt[/BLACKOUT] but the rest is just about how I see it going down.

Something along those lines, yeah.

Or [blackout]a half-mad, naked Luke lustily waiting for her.[/blackout]

And in 3D. I mean, we've been waiting 30 years to see Luke swing that 'saber.

I know [BLACKOUT]we won't see Luke till the very end and he will probably have like one scene, im assuming Ren lives beyond this film[/BLACKOUT]

Also I know that will make Luke extremely powerful, but Luke should be very powerful and just because Ren is nothing to him doesn't mean other things like Snoke can't cause him danger.

Stuntmen are a thing. If they can make Christopher Lee look good they can do the same for the much younger Hamill.

Yeah, but they didn't make either him or Sidious look good. It was painfully obvious that both were stunt/CGI doubles as the movements of the doubles did not at all match the movements of the actual actors. Times have changed, but Lee did not loom good in those fights.

I haven't watched the prequels in like ten years but whatever. I doubt we'll see Luke doddering around in a walker regardless.

If Luke is in it for just the one scene, then what's up with him and R2 in the trailers? Certainly doesn't appear to be a calm environment or that island everyone assumes he's at.

Flashback. The end is his only present time appearance.

It's part of a flashback scene.

Fans would have JJ's head on a platter if he made Luke evil. Nobody wants to sit through *another* 'Skywalker redemption' arc. They already did that with Anakin/ Vader.

It's so true. That would be THE worst possible idea.

Yet, some people were defending the idea when it was actually rumored earlier this year. Boggles my mind.
