Luther coming to BBC America

Alice is Luther's Hannibal Lecter. The two of them are drawn to one another even though she is a calculated psychopath and he is a mentally unstable reckless cop.

OK, but do you think he should go off with her and settle down with her? Settle down with Hannibal Lecter?

Luther helped Alice escape the mental institution which I think he did partly out of guilt. Alice took the rap for killing Reed and slit her own wrists.

I'm not sure Alice would ever kill John. She has helped him a number of times. I think Alice could possibly kill someone close to John though.

Elba sees Luther as a superhero.

We really don't know the depths of what she's capable of. Once again, she slaughtered her parents. Who is to know she would never harm John? She went pretty far to make sure he wouldn't implicate her in the first season.

Just watched the new season and i want more. Alice dead? Hmmm. If that chick did indeed kill Alice then she's a force to be reckoned with. As John said, he'll be coming for her….

Megan Cantor was cold and calculating. That final scene between Luther and her was chilling.

Megan Cantor's revenge plot was silly and made no sense. Her going that far over some paranoid grudge made no sense either.

I finally got around to watching the whole thing. I love it.

All New Luther returning to BBC America

Ladies and gentleman, our favorite detective is back in the cut.

The multi-award-winning Luther will return to BBC America with a new, four-part limited-series written and created by Neil Cross, and starring Idris Elba, who has received critical acclaim and a Golden Globe®, SAG and Critics’ Choice Award for his performance as DCI John Luther. Filming will commence early next year.

Elba shares our excitement about returning to the role, saying: “Neil, the BBC and I have been talking about a further season and I am thrilled that we have been able to bring it all together. I look forward to putting the coat back on.”

I don't want to see Megan Cantor again. Just deal with her offscreen.

It was a contrived way to get rid of Alice but whatever. The very idea of Luther having a future with her is the height of absurdity.

Megan's reason for sociopathy is ridiculous. Some teenager said she'd kill me, so I'm going to hold you responsible for some reason! If she was so afraid of that woman who killed that little boy before, and there was more evidence to implicate her, she should've reported it to the police. She had plenty of means to report the evidence or find a way to implicate her. It's just mental.

I remember Wunmi Mosaku from back in Moses Jones. She seems to be getting a lot more higher profile roles in recent years with roles in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Black Mirror and The End of the F****** World

I really don't want Alice back. Her and John getting together was just wrong.

I love Alice as she's pretty much one of the reasons why I love Luther and her absence was really felt in the last series, it didn't really feel like Luther. they're tried with another replace Alice with another female character (I forgot her name) that was similar to her but it didn't feel organic and that actress lacked any chemistry with Idris Elba. Honestly Alice coming back is probably the only reason I'm watching the new series as season 4 was a disappointment and it felt like I was watching a parody.

But I don't like the idea of Alice and Luther being in a relationship. I get why Luther would be attracted to her but it would out of character for him to be in her with her due to the fact that she's a psychopath and dangerous... she felt no remorse over murdering her parents and I have no doubt that she would kill Luther if she felt that he was out of line. Honestly it would be better if they're just friends like it was in season one.

It was Laura Haddock as Megan Cantor, who apparently murdered Alice offscreen.

It was bad writing and storytelling.

Alice and Luther should never be "together." Some weird and twisted attraction? Yes, most definitely. But them going off together at the end of Season 4 was just nonsense to me. I repeat, the woman pre-meditated the murder and slaughter of her own parents.

Now, her parents may have been bad people. No idea. But I mean...if she did that to her parents, what would she do to you John?

It kinda annoyed me when the show tried to make Alice a heroic figure (or anti hero) which doesn't make sense as she's lacks empathy and most of the time killing seems to be her first/only option to a problem.

They only wrote Alice off because Wilson had scheduling conflicts

Luther and Alice relationship has had a touch of the Hannibal and Clarice type of vibe.

Yes, the inspirations are obvious. Luther going away with her is still sorta obnoxious.
