Sony Spin-Off Madame Web spin-off in the works

A lot of actors are just jumping on the bandwagon of superhero movies without actually knowing much about them. Some of them a little too late I might add.
The fact that they thought they were joining the MCU and she doesn't even know Tom Holland's Spider-Man movies says a lot. Is just a bigger paycheck for them and promises of franchise money. I don't blame them but, come on, put a little effort into what you're getting into. Just looking at Sony's previous outings should give you some kind of clue.
I agree. Though on the other hand, not much you can do when you have such crappy material to work with.

Then don't do it. I mean, I don't know the innerworkings of doing something that radically changes from what you first signed on but I highly doubt they're doing it for artistic reasons. When they talk about "Well I was attracted to the role because of how dynamic and complex it is" I call b****** on that.

Oh for sure. She isn't happy. She was tricked.

We have to remember that for actors much of the time, this is a job. Yeah, sometimes it's a movie you care about. Other times it's like working a cash register at a store. You do it cause it's a job. I have no faith any draft of this movie was ever GOOD. But I can believe the early drafts were at least....more competent than what we ended up getting. There is very obvious studio interference and reshoots in this movie, and not even very well hidden at that. So I have little doubt the delivered product turned out worse than it appeared early on. To some extent

Yes, which is why I don't understand when they go after big profile titles like these without a safety net underneath that can really damage their career. It could be a big bump on the road.

I think that's why she is so mad. Cause the studio cranked out a career killer for all involved here. Dude, this was like.... next level bad

This movie's biggest crime?
Besmirching the song Dreams by The Cranberries by using it in the end credits to THIS!
Did you hear that RSD is bringing Bury The Hatchett to vinyl?

I'll finally have all of the first 5 LPs.

You can't officially be a movie from the 90s/early 2000s without playing that song. Them the rules. :o

I'm not an actor so who know how I'd feel if I was one but not seeing your own movie even once is so weird to me. You hate watching yourself so much that you also skip out on seeing what everyone else working on the film accomplished.
As a musician I hate listening to the stuff I've recorded. I'm not even sure I've listened to one song all the way through. Long story short I'm hyper critical of every aspect.

Ghost Rider Spirit of Vengeance was bad, but I must admit it's a guilty pleasure of mine. It's so baffling and funny lol. Dark Phoenix was awful, but I think better than Madame Web was and Morbius was better as well. Morbius at least had Matt Smith's entertaining performance

Yeah this was definitely worse than Morbius but since I got home a couple of hours ago, this has grown on me in the "so bad, it's good" sense. The script is just comically bad and the ending was hilarious. The story overall is fine, I think with a much, much better script, this could have been halfway decent. Probably a legit director too, I didn't realize they hired a tv director for this until I looked it up afterwards but it makes sense.

Are we sure the guy who played Ezekiel actually acted before? I know the script was bad but man...his line readings and the ADR that showed the lips didn't match. My God :funny:

He has. They had to do a bunch of ADR and redub his lines because they made massive changes to the story.

Wasn't it originally about Cassandra preventing Ezekiel from killing Mary Parker so Peter wouldn't be born? Or something to that effect, that's what I recall reading about when this movie was early in production at least.

Correct. Emma Roberts and Adam Scott were supposed to have bigger roles in the movie as well.

Seems like they did a lot of reshooting and cutting of stuff. Maybe Marvel's lawyers got involved?
