Magnum P.I.

A couple of more years and Jay Hernandez would have been young enough to be named for the TV character, as I was with Maverick and if Thomas is of that age it could have been a running joke.

I was surprised that Mac version 1 was introduced as Higgins had been doing what Mac, then Maggie did on the original show. I am calling Hannah as a triple agent just as Michelle but between this and Hawaii 5-0 I am suprised anyone in HPD makes it to retirement

The original Rick sometimes guest stars in Hawaii Five-0. So it wouldn't be difficult to have them both guest star at the same time.
I'm actually surprised he wasn't the first one to guest star because of his previous spots on H50 but considering Mosley rarely does anything anymore, I'd say this is a big move on their part.

Apparently this will be Roger E. Moseley's first acting gig since 2000.
Maybe in a reoccurring role. The Magnum trio was on a Las Vegas episode in the last season when Tom Selleck replaced James Caan.

Do they even say who Rick is supposed to be in H50? Have they given him a name? He just seems to appear randomly in the background at various parties.

I wonder if at some point Magnum is going to come up against the Yakuza.

It would've also been cool if McGarrett went up against Jordana Brewster in a H50 episode, and he had no idea of the connection, and Magnum didn't even appear in that one. He just thought it was a regular case. But then, maybe all his cases are like that, because they're always going to be connected to someone else on the island. Maybe only at the end do they mention the Magnum connection.

Also, in H50, they have that former MI6 agent Harry Langford (played by Chris Vance) who shows up every now and then. Maybe he could guest star in Magnum and have some connection to Higgins.

Larry Manetti plays a local club singer on 5-0, they were surely not going to far away from the King Kamehameha Club iconic role root.

Seeing as Adam on 5-0 has nothing but being a fallen Yakuza prince that is one possible crossover with a "main cast" beyond the medical examiner and Kamekono appearances

Need Magnum to meet with McGarrett.

Also, Tom Selleck for Robin Masters cameo.

Well this week's episode had some good action at the end. Nice seeing Higgins getting in on the action. Although that could easily have been her getting kicked off the building. She was lucky she got the upper hand at that point.

Perdita has a really pretty smile btw.

Who did steal the furniture in the end? Was it the person whose house they invaded after all? If so, why did he give it back?

Guilt and for the vets.

As for Perdita her smile has nothing on Honeysuckle's her big sister. But given her modern body type in Juliet wear as opposed a WWII ATS uniform in Foyle's War is where the big difference is seen.

Another good episode this week, the dual fights between the two high rises with Magnum vs the Fixer and Higggins vs the Sniper were really well done, and it was another case that started off simple and grew intriguingly.

Last night's episode was pretty good. It connected in with the premiere's shipwreck in that Magnum was kidnapped by former CIA agents to find more hidden gold, which was organized by Magnum's ex, a rogue CIA agent named Hanna. We got a lot more to that backstory and how it colors a lot of his decisions. There was a good action sequence at the end involving a evidence truck heist of the gold where Magnum has Hanna at gunpoint aboard the truck but refuses to take the shot. Once she's able to get a gun and Magnum in a perilous position, she shoots him in the shoulder instead of going for the killshot. The truck crashes but she escapes, leaving her to possibly return in future episodes. In the hospital, TC and Rick kind conclude that Magnum still has feelings for Hanna and vice versa for Hanna.

This was a really good episode and I didn't know about the Jordana casting so that was a cool surprise. It was good to get some of that hinted at backstory for Magnum and the big sequence on the bridge was really well done, I think they used that same stretch for a sequence in one of the latter eps of last seasons Hawaii Five-0.

I looked up an interview with Honeysuckle on YouTube. I prefer Perdita. Honeysuckle seems a bit stiffer. Perdita is more cute and bubbly.

Perdita was looking stunning this week. Has she changed her hairstyle a bit too?

I read some article that the lawyer woman Magnum has started dating at the end is pretty much like Higgins, whereas the baseball guy that Higgins has started dating is pretty much like Magnum. So it's as if they're in denial and finding substitutes for each other.

What happened to that scene on the beach at the start where that woman found out that Magnum wasn't really that doctor? They never went back to that. I guess that was just one of many dates. Maybe it would've been better if they rewrote that somehow that it was the lawyer woman instead who thought that Magnum wasn't what she wanted. I don't know how they would've done that though with such little time in the cold open before the credits.

Nice to see Dennis Chun as Duke Lukela cameoing. Although why don't they ever show him interacting with Katsumoto? It would be nice to at least look like they're both working together for the same precinct and in the same scene. Would be cool if Katsumoto also appeared in Hawaii 5-0.

How does Magnum not even cross paths or fall foul of one of 5-0's investigations? You'd think he would eventually.

Maybe Katsumoto is your typical TV cop and jealous of his turf, with Magnum but especially with those 5-0 task force elitist

Well this week was more about Katsumoto. He was off the case and knowing what it's like to be in Magnum's shoes.

Nice to see Roger E Mosley.

Seems to be only 2 episodes left of the season. It has gone quickly. No new episode next week though. When it returns it seems to revolve around Magnum and Higgins in a perilous situation stranded in the water with Higgins shot.

Based on the synopsis of the finale, it looks like Jordana Brewster will be returning as Magnum's ex. Plus, it looks like the Magnum/H50 will have to wait until next season.

“The Day It All Came Together” – Hannah (guest star Jordana Brewster), Magnum’s ex and the fugitive responsible for him and his SEAL team brothers being POWs for years, shows up at his home with a gunshot wound, and wanting his help to find her missing CIA father whose life is in danger. Also, Magnum makes an earnest proposition to Higgins for her to become his private investigations partner, on the first season finale of MAGNUM P.I., Monday, April 1 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Brian Austin Green guest stars as Special Agent Adam Kreshner.

Well this week we had a lot of focus on Magnum and Higgins and also saw how they first met. If I hadn't been watching this series from the start, I might think today was a little bit of a clip show, but they were all fresh flashbacks.

Were her pants keeping her afloat the whole time? I didn't see it around her neck for most of when she was swimming.

I wish they had worked in a homage to the opening credits of the original series where it shows Magnum helping a woman to swim. They could've made that Higgins here.

Seems they're really pushing the Magnum Higgins relationship. Perdita looked great as usual.

Next week is the finale already.

No just as they came back from another scene were treading water deciding to swim instead of stay put. While the decision was being argued about the survival training had not kicked in yet and the pants life preserver was not on Higgins.. They had the scene of Magnum helping her take off the improvised life preserver just as the swimming began.

The pants seemed to have disappeared though when they were swimming. When she was unconscious and sunk and Magnum had to go and rescue her, they were nowhere to be seen. Unless Magnum had them with him? But why wouldn't she keep them as the preserver to keep her afloat, especially since she was losing blood and strength?

Magnum was wearing light colored shorts. But as he dived down to rescue Higgins, there seemed to be a darker cloth around his waist. This was, I assumed, the “life preserver pants” - available in case they were needed again. It’s a fair question why Higgins, in her weakened condition, didn’t wear the life preserver at all times. It was implied, though, that the floatation was good for resting but interfered with swimming.

They did show Magnum tieing the pants around his waist when he helped Higgins remove it at the beginning of the swin

I think Magnum should've inflated them again when it looked like she was losing strength, because it would've been easier to pull her as he swam with her. She would never have sunk. But they probably wanted that scene and him having to give mouth to mouth and trying to bring her back without knowing whether she would make it.

Good episode this week with Magnum and Higgy lost at sea. I didn't know there was only 20 episodes in the season.
