I decided to change to give Superman the credit as the year's biggest movie, while Grease made more money, Superman was at the time the most expensive movie made, and the teasers hyped it up as a major event. Superman is still a major influence to blockbusters nowadays, and even though Grease is still fondly remembered and a one of the most popular musicals, i believe give the points to Superman: The Movie. You could also cal this the horror film's year, with Jaws 2, Halloween, The Swarm and Dawn of the Dead.

Grease had a $6 million budget compared to Superman's $55 million. Personally I would have still considered this the year of Grease even if Superman had done "a bit more money". I can't say for sure since it was so long ago, and I don't know how the talk was before release, but I can imagine Grease must have been one of those smaller movies that surprised everyone while Superman was expected to be one of the biggest movies of of the year.

Yeah, that's why i'm doing 2 lists, one for highest grossing films and another for high budgeted films. I considered Grease the film of the year because it was indeed the highest grossing one of 1978

Rocky is still one of the beat movies ever.

It was cool to see it on Cap's to-do list. I think Steve Rogers would enjoy it. Haha.
