Making Spider-Woman work in the MCU

I like it too. It's something I'd expect her to look in the MCU:

Can totally see her showing up in AoS now with that look. Not too shabby. Reminds me of Mockingbird.

I'm infuriated by the new outfit, but I guess if the rationale is to avoid more Internet super-controversy over her rear end, I guess this was the "best" way to go about it.

I still want Alexandra Daddario to play Jessica, but this outfit would do absolutely nothing to compliment her figure.

so I take it they have an eye towards live action for her

I actually think she should be introduced in SHIELD before making the big screen splash. Maybe even an introduction in Captain Marvel's solo as her best friend Jessica before she dawns the suit as a superheroine could work

Considering the massive amount of HYDRA involvement on the show, yeah, I'd say introduce Jessica Drew on the show.

And I support Alexandra Daddario as her. While it was unfortunate to see her miss out on Jessica Jones, thinking of Jessica Drew has made me think that Jessica Jones wasn't the right Marvel Jessica for her.

Time to get on that Marvel.

The same reasons I figure every single thread on this site for a female superhero largely consists of what costume and hairstyle would look the sexiest on them.

The skin tight traditional costume is excellent for a comic book (I had no problem with Milo Manara's cover) but completely unsuitable for a movie. Whats required is a costume that can be worn by a real woman not lines on paper. The new costume, which is more like a uniform is very much a screen costume. Remember the illusion of reality that these movies have.

For the same reason costumes show off the male comic book figure. Comic book heros are usually drawn as nudes then colored in. With male heros you want to emphasize strength and masculinity with female characters its beauty and femininity as well as strength. Have a look at the picture below to see what I mean. Anyway as I said the new costume is fine for a movie but I'm skeptical is suitable for a comic book.

form fitting isn't T&A. Wonder Woman's outfit has historically been much more revealing in terms of skin. Even Black Widow still gets to wear some version of the outfit she's had since 1968, without the "it's porn!" catcalls. LOL.

With that name and logo though it would have been throwing people off in a world where they didn't have the rights to Spidey. Did not see them using her without license and dropping the name.

I really hope whatever hypothetical legal quagmire existed due to the name, is now a non-issue with the Spidey acquisition into the MCU.
