Making the perfect Spidey suit

does anyone have suggestions for what to put in my eye frames? i see tons of examples, but i'm having trouble finding information.

Hey I have finally decided that I want to try and work on a pattern myself. Does anyone know where I can get a print from. Also what stops someone from using illustrator instead of photoshop. I know a lot of times people see people like me as someone who doesn't know what he is talking about but I have been here a while and feel that I could really add something to this forum with my talents. So please someone help me get a pattern.

you don't know what you are talking about....

I have not attempted a full pattern but I know that illustrator is more of an advanced microsoft paint program. good but not useful in a project like this that requires the tools in photoshop. Illustrator reminds me of a coloring book for adults!

Maybe not enough to complete a whole suit but I do know enough through my experiance with illustrator and photoshop to know that illustrator is a vector based program unlike photoshop which is bit mapped... that means that no matter how much you alter the size or the resolution of the image (in illustartor) it will not get fuzy of pixilated... seems like that would allow for a higher quality print. Again you're right I don't know everything but show me someone on this board who started out knowing everything. this board is a place where people learn and share their ideas. I'm not asking for anything ridiclous just a means of getting the begginngs of a pattern like the tk comic or something.

Iceman is right that Illustrator does vector-based lines...lines like the ones on the spiderman costume. If you ever look at the pattern Spidermancostumediy.com sells it's an illustrator file. (BTW, Illustrator isn't a newb program...graphic artists use it exclusively for certain things it's perfect for)

Iceman, I highly doubt you're going to get someone to give up the rights to use their pattern. That's like asking coke for the secret formula.

Thanks Stan and I didn't phrase that to well I don't expect anyone to give me their pattern although that would be cool, but I do know that there used to be the tk comics pattern and people have had some on ebay before. back when fettster was a regular he bought one off of ebay so by no means do i expect anyone to give me a pattern i just want to know how to get ahold of one so i try and make it to what i want

Nice suit and nice photography, especially the shot with you on the roof of the car. It'd be intersting how that same pose would end up on a silver or light grey car that caught the reflections in color.

finally, my first post after just following the board for a year!

anyway, i'm sure you're all familiar with spidertim. i ordered a suit from him on 7-14-08. after a few (i use that term lightly) misunderstandings got taken care of he said he'd get the suit made. more that 6 months later i'm still suit-less. he says he'll get it done, and from the conversations i've had with him i know he's a very busy man. but really, 6 months? that's more than twice the time his website says. i'm not trying to bash tim in any way at all, but i'm just ...confused. anyone had any similar issues?

Hey dude,

I got a suit from Tim a few years back now and had to wait for 6 months or so before getting it.
You are right about his website it does say it will only take 3 months to make and ship to you, but his suits aren't made in the same way as the other guys on the board so it take a lil longer.
He is true to his word though and you will get a suit from him that will fit well and look really good, so just hold tight.

hey guys, i'm sure most of you have played "Web of Shadows," and if you haven't you need to. last semester in college i had to write a poem for my lit. class. i (being the nerd i am) did it over good ol' spidey. i figured you guys would get a kick outta it. read, enjoy, and give me some feedback!

Web of Shadows​

He could not face his home made gallows
Slinging through this concrete jungle
His mission is one he cannot bungle

Never to know what’s ahead
Is his choice black or red?

The black screams out into the night
“Come get me red, it’s time we fight!
Without me this world is naught,
Come at me Red, forget your thoughts!”

Black advances over red
Is this the end we see ahead?

As the giant city sleeps
No one know they are to weep
For as the black grows more and more
It seems as though Red will never score

Are we dreaming? Is this real?

BANG! The clash of red versus black
