Making the perfect Spidey suit

Hey everyone. I was wondering if anyone knew where i could buy a nice spider-man replica movie costume that has the 3d webbing and is durable and could be used multiple times. I'm not looking for a costume with printed webs. And I'm looking for one that isn't extremely expensive. Also having the mask not being attached to the suit also. Something like spideyplanet.com but it says they are temporarily out of business unfortunately. Thanks any help would be great.

he makes good suits, or so i hear. my suit was supposed to show up tomorrow, but i really don't think that's gonna happen. he say he's behind on stuff. $900 for his work. give him an e-mail. tell him eric floyd told you about him. completely cool guy. i've talked on the phone with him a few times and he seems awesome. i'm sure he'd love to help you out

from the photos i've seen on his website and the ones from his myspace page (www.myspace.com/spidertim) i don't think anyone can see the wearer's eyes. i'm not a huge fan of the chrome-reflective type eyes so i asked him to use the frames he would use on the black suit.

he said my suit would be here by today, but i haven't had any contact with him for a little over 1.5 weeks. i really, really hope it shows up today, but i know better than to get my hopes up. :(

Need assistance. I purchased the officialy licensed comic version of the costume and i need a spare mask. I have a pattern from the movie version and the web pattern is great but the lines are too thick and dont match and i can not modify it because the image is not layered. I was wondering if someone with a pattern can modify just the mask peice with webs the width of my original costume.

ok i have to ask why does every 1 love the brick work on costumes somuch. it worked well with the movie costume and i have to say that brad it worked well with dead pool but not every superhero costume looks good with brick work or some thing similar to it. the muscle shadeing i think is the only thing that works well with every printed superhero costume.

Yea, I have to agree with you. I died when I saw the Superman had "bricking" in Superman returns lol. I think it's a little over used in the superhero fanbase as well. Tho it does work well with dead pool.

Oh By the way that test print for the Scarlet suit is awesome!

Who knows why people like stuff?? I guess they're just looking to give a suit something extra. I can make stuff... with bricks, diamonds, pretty much any pattern you need... or with just muscle... or even just colours. As for the scarlet suit... he requested a brick type pattern with muscles.

Yeah i found that out on the website. I didnt see that part. But i agree with the chrome eyes. Thats the only thing i didnt like about the suit. Are the eyes for the black suit not see through too? Because I dont remember seeing it for the black suit. And thats weird that he hasnt contacted you for that long. I emailed him twice in the last two days and he responded to both of them.

Hi everyone!
I own a suit made by OVDH (Ollie)... I ordered it the same time a lot of people didnt receive anything from him but i was lucky to live in germany myself so i got it after a lot of hassle through a lawyer etc. unfortunately some parts of the webbing and also 2 legs of the front spider are breaking now so my question is what glue you would advise me to glue the webbing / spider?
also will the spider look good at all when glueing it or should i just try to get a new one?
and also is there anyone making suits in the same quality as OVDH did just with a more stable webbing?
thank you!
below i'm posting some pictures of the suit when it was still in a good condition without any webbing / spiders being broken... don't blame me for being a too muscular spiderman ;).

Good to see you got yours bro i guess the lawyer scared it out of ollie huh?
I remember talking to you about it a while ago. looks great on you, you could use loctite gel glue. It works well enough with a decent flex drys clear your webs look 10 times better then what ollie sent me! Good luck bro I'm still waiting on a suit i know i will never see.:csad: BTW I hope to be able to offer a suit on the level of ollie in the next year but funds are short... and time is limited.

yeah as soon as he received the first letter from the lawyer he actually started to do something but he just repaired the broken parts - never exchanged something :(. im really sorry to hear that you didnt receive yours, i dont know how things are with law across the sea but i guess you could always take a lawyer in germany too. honestly when i visited ollie he never looked like someone who would fool people.
is there a more "universal" glue name you can tell me? i doubt i will get a loctite glue here in germany.
also i dont really understand the sentence "with a decent flex dries clear your webs look 10 times..." - my english ain't the best ;).

Yeah my only concern about getting a nice spiderman costume is being scammed by someone. Which I've read has happened to quite a bit of people. On his website a lot of people whom acquired a suit said it took a long time but they got it and were happy with it. I'm sure maybe he might be having some trouble. Try emailing him again in calm fashion and maybe he will respond. Hope you get it soon. And be sure to show some pics when you do.

i really don't think that i was scammed, but it's just getting a little frustrating (and expected) at this point. he told me it would be ready for halloween. HALLOWEEN! that was 4 months ago. don't you think i have a little right to be as pissed as i am?

I didn't mean to say you got scammed. I was just mentioning that I've seen a bunch of people mention that they got scammed. And i didn't know you have been waiting that long. I completely understand and would be just as mad too.

Brad, do you have any pics of a finished suit with your new urethane webbing? I'd love to see it, my fiancee said she was getting me an engagment gift and I'm thinking of that.

Does anyone know any other people who have websites or sell good spidey outfits that havent been mentioned yet? I want to look at a bunch of different ones and see everyones different styles.

And does any one know how long spideyplanet is going to be temporarily out of business? I tried emailing before asking but didnt get an answer. And does anyone know why they are?

i've finally had enough. here is the e-mail i just sent to spidertim. please tell me your thoughts

well, once again i've been blown off. but to be honest it was expected.

i'm not going to get mad. i'm not going to yell. anger never solves anything. but i would like to point a few things out.

1. i understand that i only had to pay $700 instead of $900, but that was due to a rather large miscommunication. since i paid less does that mean i'm not a real customer in which you have to meet deadlines?

2. the suit has been fully paid for since 9-19-08.

3. this is the 3rd time that you have told me i would have my suit and in return i have gotten nothing. (halloween, dec 18, and now last friday the 23rd)

4. if we count from when the final payment was sent, your website states that the maximum wait time is 3 months. it's been more than 4

5. i feel that communication has been extremely poor

6. i have no proof that you've even started a suit for me. only your word, which at this point means very little.

7. would it have really been that hard to call me or e-mail me and say "
hey, i know i said the suit would be there on _____day, but i got a little busy. i'll get it to you soon." no, instead you've chosen to leave me empty handed without even having the courtesy to even try and contact me.

here's the bottom line. i am the customer. you are the provider. you have a responsibility (which you've told me yourself) to deliver my product in a timely manner.

i either want my suit by January 31, 2009 OR a money order in the amount of $700 sent to me in my name.

once again, here is the address to be used:

Eric Floyd
(address went here)

I would greatly appreciate a response to this e-mail. And as always, thank you for your time.

thank you bro!

I doubt i could get a lawyer to do anything now it's been almost a year since he said my suit would be done in 2 weeks since last may i think:csad:

Any when i said flexible i mean the Glue itself wont make the webbing hard it will still be soft:cwink: and movable. Maybe Spidey4fun could help with a glue since he is over sea's?

Dam Im so jelous of you in a good way though ;) Ollies suits are really fantastic as well. Its really odd that only a few people have them too. It would be nice in the near future if a suitmaker came up with the right designs and materials to make and sell Ollie suits for everyone that have been trying to buy one. That would be really nice. If anyone does know how to make a suit like Ollies let me know. Thanks guys I would love to get my hands on one.

I think that sounds fine. I mean I've read his website and he does state it would take 1-3months. The fact that its been more than that with no suit and little to no contact obviously means something is wrong. Its good that you set a date that you will wait to. But if he doesn't read it then what?
