"Guys... need help here, please!! Just got a Yuri's kit (which kicks some serious motherfkn ass!) but i was wondering which shoes to use with it. I know about kung fu shoes, but there's like a 1000 modals/brand of those...

I'm not a big fan of the ninja/aqua shoes. I will be using something like this:

http://ashoelover.com/Lost-Angels-T...tm_medium=organic&utm_source=froogle-GB&id=uk

I plan on sliding them in the the leg (that is sealed at the toes like a sock)
Next, get a spare rubber mat that sits on top of any 'Snap-On' tool chest and cut shoe soles to match the shoe.

http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/objects/7800/1611_Classic_web.pdf

Spray paint the soles red, and use thick shoe sole glue to soak through the lycra sock and bond to the inner skate shoe.
May even take it to a shoe repair shop and get them to do it.

Just an option ;)

I second Brogz idea!! Im just trying to source some red and black rubber now for the soles of the full suits Im currently working on.....very slowly.

I just received some pics of the scarlet suit. Here's a look.

Brad.

Brad, did you use the same metal mesh on the lens for that scarlet mask? Just wondering how it holds up on a larger surface.

Looks great, now if you just ever get that Reilly suit pattern finished :cwink:

Yeah same mesh with a coat of paint. Reilly... one day.

I got asked to do an appearance as Spider-man for a birthday party. Question is...what do you usually do at a birthday part? The child will be 7 years old. There will quite a few 6-7 year old boys.

Thanks!

Some suggestions.... don't volunteer to lead any games/activities... too hard to see out of the mask to do things like that! You can "assist" other adults as they lead a game, etc.

Suggest that the parents go out and buy some cheap Spider-Man coloring books or folders for the kids.... sign them with a sharpie for the kids at the party.

Pose for photos.... individual ones and a group one. Have parents line the kids up and control the "flow".

Walk around and talk to the kids/interact with them. Bend down to their level to talk to them.

Be prepared in advance to "answer as Spidey would answer", in other words "do your research" on the movies and the character in general, as kids will ask you just about anything about villains, etc.... think up replies to requests like "spin a web for me" or "crawl up the wall"... one that I would suggest is "I only do that during a battle".

Interest tends to drift off if you go past half an hour.... If they are intent on having you there longer, be ready for some "down" time.

Directed by Julie Taymor
Music and Lyrics by Bono and The Edge
Written by Julie Taymor and Glen Berger

SPIDER-MAN, Turn Off the Dark, will open on Thursday, February 18, 2010 at Broadway's Hilton Theatre, 213 West 42nd Street (preview performances will begin Saturday, January 16, 2010).
Directed by Tony® Award-winner Julie Taymor with 22-time Grammy® Award-winning Bono and The Edge creating new music and lyrics, SPIDER-MAN will be written by Julie Taymor and Glen Berger.
SPIDER-MAN is produced by Hello Entertainment/David Garfinkle, Martin McCallum, Marvel Entertainment/David Maisel, Sony Pictures Entertainment, and Jeremiah Harris.
SPIDER-MAN is produced in association with Omneity Entertainment/Richard Weinberg, the Mayerson/Gould/Hauser/Tysoe Group, Patricia Lambrecht and Jam Theatricals/S2BN.
Julie Taymor is best known as director of one of the most successful musicals in Broadway history, Disney's The Lion King and the film Across The Universe. Bono and The Edge are half of one of the most popular rock bands of all time, U2, who will be making their Broadway debut with SPIDER-MAN.
Drawing from over forty years of Marvel comic books for inspiration, SPIDER-MAN spins a new take on the mythic tale of a young man propelled from a modest rowhouse in Queens to the sky-scraping spire of the Chrysler Building, the bustling offices of the Daily Bugle, through the dizzying canyons of Manhattan, to new vistas never before seen. The musical follows the story of teenager Peter Parker, whose unremarkable life is turned upside-down—literally—when he's bitten by a genetically altered spider and wakes up the next morning clinging to his bedroom ceiling. This bullied science-geek—suddenly endowed with astonishing powers—soon learns, however, that with great power comes great responsibility as villains test not only his physical strength but also his strength of character. Spider-Man's battles will hurtle the audience through an origin story both recognizable and unexpected--yielding new characters as well as familiar faces--until a final surprising confrontation casts a startling new light on this hero's journey.

The principal creative and design team for SPIDER-MAN includes Daniel Ezralow, Choreographer (Across the Universe, The Green Bird); George Tsypin, Sets (The Magic Flute, The Little Mermaid); Eiko Ishioka, Costumes (Academy Award® for Bram Stoker's Dracula, Tony Award® nomination for M. Butterfly, the opening ceremonies for the Beijing Olympics); Donald Holder, Lighting (Tony® Awards for The Lion King, South Pacific); Jonathan Deans, Sound (Fosse, The Beatles LOVE by Cirque du Soleil, Young Frankenstein, Ragtime); and Teese Gohl, Musical Supervisor (Across the Universe, Frida). Additional members of the SPIDER-MAN creative team will be announced at a later date.

Casting for SPIDER-MAN will be announced soon.

Hey guys, I have a complete Schuurkes kit for sale. I don't have time to work on it. I haven't started anything on it. Asking $825 shipped. PM me if you're interested. Thanks.

Has any heard from Jester FX. I had not been in contact with him since the Feb 26th. I order a set of lenses + a faceshell a while ago (need em by the 14th) and he was replying to my e-mails within 24hours but he seems he had disappeared. Just wanting to make sure he's ok.

No Affense to you eledoremassis02 but when I last herd from him was on Feb18 he sent me a private email saying if I was interested in buying his lenses because I thought they looked nice for $185 the pair but then I realized that they looked exactly like the ones that Ernie SpideyFan27 showed me one time a while back.... I never responded back to him because I know for a fact that he is associateded with Ernie SpideyFan27 and if this is not true Jester FX forgive me for mis-judging you because your username and the lenses you showed me in a private email looks and sounds really familiar. Erine who once screwed me for $200 for these 2 Masks that I was supposed to be recieving about 6-7months ago from and I never recieved them I dont even think hes on this board anymore.. but that was a while back and I dont want go back to that subject because it was a while back. You guys all need to be Careful on who your buying from because we have alot of common thefts here.

I have more faith in him because Masked rider got his set. But it's sad that we have to worry about such things.

Yes they were associated, but only loosely. I have had the occasion to call Ernie, Mike and Justin on the phone each about 5 or 6 times for various dealings, info and other reasons so I can speak about these things. It's not a full-on partnership in the least. More of, as I said, a loose affiliation. One makes parts for suits...the other constructs suits.
