POTC2 will open huge, but not so huge like most of people think.

I still have some doubts that it will make more than 1st movie. But I hope it will make much more than it.

So as we can see, POTC2 is the last hope of this summer.

Indeed.

All that money for a stale remake that just gives us what we have already seen.

Would it be hard to give the fans what they want ???

Superman against a genuine powerful foe .... dazzle the public!

Bryan Singer apparently thought that flying and watching bullets bounce off of a man is still enough to wow audiences like it did in '78. But when we've got Spider-Man duking it out with Doc Ock and Batman driving his car on rooftops, I think that Singer should have tried harder to push the envelope.

Trying to make a sequel to a nearly 30 year old movie was his biggest blunder though IMO. They should have just started over and delivered us an origin story for the 21st century. Since he based it on Donner's Superman though, he was limiting himself to someone else's interperetation of the character, which IMO was already flawed.

If I were making a Superman flick I'd have based it after the old Fleischer cartoons. That version of Superman was much more vulnerable and was hardly god-like in his abilities, so they didn't need to use kryptonite every time they wanted to show him in peril. They remembered that he was Superman, not Superbeing. And I wanted to see Superman punch a giant robot!

I hate to say i told you so. BUT I TOLD YOU SO!

I had predicted a weak BO for SR as well, but I don't feel like rubbing it in. I think I'm too mad about Superman's chance at a big comeback getting effed up to gloat. :(

Maybe in another 10 years or so we might get lucky, and see them try again. But I don't know how likely that is, since they've already lost so much money trying to revive the franchise already.

I've also been saying that for the longest time. you know who could have saved this movie? Jesus James Cavizel. i don't care i'll rub it in.

Nah Snakes On A Plane has a chance to be a hit

SOAN looks ridiculous, it isn't even have right release date.

I doubt it will even make $100m.

What? I said POTC2 would kick SR butt. I still think SR reaches atleast 200million which isnt that bad.

Well, I think we should wait and see what will happen.

I think some people overestimate POTC2, it will make very very huge box office, but not $100m opening.

sorry aboutthat i meant to all the supes lover that was suppose to go to.

Pirates is going to be huge over the weekend. I can't wait...

I think it was a bad mistake to open SR on a Wensday.

Everyone needs to remember that SR and POTC2 have alot longer running time then some/most movies... so theres not as many showings.

they wanted to make more money before POTC2 arrived.

they had SR playing 15 times opening day.

Well, I will admit that you were right, because it is truth.

Now I expect from SR, BB's numbers, if it is lucky.

So the only hope for summer 2006 is Pirates 2, to which I also was looking forward.
