Now i gotta ask you Mr. Singer do you still think it was a good idea to cast a Unknown As one of The Biggest and Well Known Superhero's Ever?

Reeve was pretty much an unknown. Keaton was only known for Mr. Mom when he was cast. X-Men was Jackman's first American film. Maguire was never really popular before Spider-Man. Bale wasn't very popular either.

Yes but Tobey Keaton and Bale where heard of. and the thing about who played Wolverine didn't depend that much cause he wasn't the real main character like the others where. i guess he went to the well once to much.

I'm just saying if it where a more known name it would have brought in more money.

I disagree. I loved Brandon Routh. I dont think a big name would have brought in more money.

How is 83 million that bad?

113-113 - we have a tie :)

Voting after SR opened is too easy, close the poll :o

cause people thought it would make history cause its Superman and everyone loves him according to most people. they where thinking a 120 or more. plus the budget was what 260 not to mention all the other money theyspent? what coming out to around or near 400 mill. now does 86 mill sound like a good number now?

SR kicks Xmen 3 butt imo. I think the film will Do pretty good in the weeksn to come to give it 200million.

Not only did I predict a lukewarm reception for SR, but I also predicted that X-Men 3 was going to beat it, even without Bryan Singer directing it. And I was right. If my accuracy streak continues, then POTC2 will be having a good opening next week.

For 5 days it doesnt sound bad... its not great but its good..

I think Superman Returns had a bad case of bloated-budget-itus.

I'm not saying its bad but when you have a budget of 260 thats not exactly great either.

I liked X-Men 3. and no its not a case of fanboyism.

If SR's budget was $150 million then 86 mil for an opening weekend would be decent, since they're already more than halfway to grossing the film's budget. But they're no-where near making back all the money they spent on it, and with Pirates 2 coming out next week it's going to be even harder. Heads will roll over this film if the studio takes a hit for it.

Yeah it did. there like how do we fix this problem?

oh lets throw some more money at it. hopefully people will be distracted by the lights and sounds.

Me and all my posse loved X-Men 3, but the reaction to SR was much less enthusiastic.
