Man of Steel vs. Pirates- who wins box office?

I'm still baffled POTC2 made more money on a freakin MONDAY than Superman did on a Friday or Satuday. I really didn't expect the money issue to be so lopsided.

The better movie won the BO battle. I thought that I wouldn't like Pirates 2, but Superman Returns would be great. Turns out, loved Pirates 2, disliked Superman Returns. Ain't life funny.

It is funny because I just knew that Pirates was not going to beat out SR, despite how great I thought Pirates was. All the media surrounding SR I just knew it was going to pull the numbers that Pirates is pulling right now.

Nah, but Pirates is mediocre, sorry. It definitely doesn't deserve all this cash and hoopla.

I'm not even that big of a Superman fan, but I wanted it to do well.

Batman is by far my favorite character if you must know.

I saw POTC2 and I loved it. It was summer blockbuster with a lot of fun and action.

I think POTC2 deserve so high numbers.

But I also can say that SR desereve $300m domesticly, even if I haven't seen it yet.

Also Milkman, I wanted SR to do well too and I really wanted to like it more but honestly it could have been better.

It has 2 weekends, it is maybe the last movie in very popular trilogy and has very huge and smart promotion and hypeness.

couldn't we just edit this thread title and just call it the POTC2 Box Office discussions thread? Because I think its clear now.
Anyway...I'm surprised...Boxoffice "experts" and analysts are under predicting yet again! Saying Pirates may only take in 66million...While other great sequels and record breakers like Shrek 2 and Spidey 2 took in 70million during its second week...I hope the people behind those sites and predictions aren't putting money on it. I think the second weekend is gonnna blow everyone away all over again. imo.
