Mark Millar's Many Thoughts On Superman

You're right, in the next Superman film, they better give us 2 hours of punching, OR ELSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:whatever:.

Rather that than 2 and a half hours of spying on your ex and been a total *****e.

I'm not going to put a lot of credence into Millar's statements. He has been known to put things out there...that didn't really come to past, and he is known as a loose cannon. However, if this news is true then it must mean WB is looking to scrap MOS...and I'm saying THANK YOU WB!!!!

Superman Returns was a horrible Superman movie. For me it's right there with Superman IV! I know some will disagree, but I'm willing to let someone like Millar take a shot at Superman. It could end up being horrible, but I think he will produce something vastly different from Singer. And that version of Superman will be more appropo with what most hard-core Superman fans want.

Please let this not be a rumor and please let WB scrap MOS and dismiss that hack Singer!!!

With all do respect for Routh, who seems like a nice fella, he needs a sequel to happen because he's doesn't seem to be getting tons of great projects after what was supposed to be a big break out role. Singer didn't really show anything special about him and it might take another more charming/better Superman to get the big boys to look at him.

I think he got lot of offers (or projects as you say) than you think. It possible he is trying to be smart & pick a good indie films to do. He is just being careful like Bale, even though Bale has some bad films which isn't his fault. Just look at his resume & you'll see it's going to get bigger soon. ;)

And I got to say Routh on the poll. Millar has no connection with WB than Routh himself. Also, it possible Routh know something & WB is keeping a tight-lip secret on this.

I agree on Singer going but wouldnt you consider it pointless to go from one trash to another? I mean did you read his idea for Superman?

I think I may have read it...at some point. During the fervor for SR, I read a lot of ideas for Superman. Then, I agreed with the ninny Singer Apologists, and I co-signed on SR. I thought the new movie would be the premiere vision for Superman because it stayed with the traditions, and the actor looked like the Superman I remembered from my youth.

However...................I was completely wrong. I was so wrong I wish I hadn't been wrong!!! I'm now left wondering if Superman would have been better served fighting polar bears. Hell! I'm wondering if the Polar Bears wouldn't be drifting off the continent if Superman did fight them! ****! I'm wondering about a whole lot of things!

So, to answer your question, I'm at this point willing to take a risk on my childhoold hero and let someone else have a shot at him. From my perspective, nothing can be worse than BSinger!

Didnt see that movie.

In SR we got 2 and a half hours of great story, great characters and great actions scene's to make one awesomely satisfying whole :yay:.

No, he wasn't joking;

And he's bang on the money with his assessment

Eh, Ofcourse I could be wrong but I doubt it. These aren't exactly great comparsions because these two actors had careers before the "cape" as it were, but I'm quite sure that Tobey Maguire and Christain Bale both got tons more offers after they donned the spandex than Routh did. Again not a perfect match but I'll use it anyway.

Routh, though of course he wouldn't know exactly what's going on either--but much more than Millar. Reading Millar's latest "news", I couldn't help but laugh. So you have a producer and a director set up. Right. And does WB know about this? Cause if you plan on making a Superman movie, you kind of need the greenlight from them...and they turned your pitch down. And all signs have been pointing to either a sequel or nothing at the WB...so...yeah.

Moron.

AGREED, it was so refreshing to see something more powerful than the generic fight scene at the end which has failed to impress me personally since Blade II and Spiderman 2. In SR, we got something so much more powerful and worthwhile, and truly worthy of The Man Of Steel. AVEITWITHJAMON[/quote]

Well said, AVEIT. Look, I do want to see Superman fighting a supervillain someday, of course, but that's not really the essense of Superman; he is a saviour figure, he saves when it seems that all is lost. He represents hope. I think SR was really good reintroduction of Superman to the big screen. Singer gave us a classic, timeless and mythical Superman. The story of a god among men.

What movie did you watch again? Are you joking? Please tell me you are joking?

I agree... I didn't like the movie that much. It actually...needed a better script. Everything was vague and Clark had barely any screen time... It would have been better to show him leaving Earth in the opening scene....and then after the opening credits...he comes back. I think they missed a huge thing by taking out the krypton sequence.

Outside of the plane scene I don't recall one even semi exciting save scene...so I'd argue we didn't even have that to fall back on.

And too me it was 2 and a half hours of torture.

You makes me sick to my stomach.

Obviously his comment was just as much a joke as mine torture comment was.
