Hey that would be cool. I really like McClure as an actor. He was in Apollo 13, and although he wasnt in it much and I'm not sure that even had any lines, I couldnt help but look at him in every scene he was in.

He was also Marty McFly's older brother in the Back to the Future movies

Put it this way Avid was Bruce Wayne created just for the movies alone? No, then why can't SV use him????? Because there is embargo on him stating he can't be used in any live action program besides the movie. The same goes with the music and suit. The embargo goes for Superman that the name (Superman), music, or suit can not be used unless by the film dept. Now SV may get a pass be it that they were first but as of right now that is what is in place.

you're talking out of your rear yet again. The whole "embargo" on Smallville was lifted once Singer came aboard SR right before Smallville went into Season 4. Singer, Dougherty and Harris are all good friends with Millar and Gough, and they came to an agreement about working together and the studio pretty much leaves them alone now as far as Superman is concerned. Gough just basically reaffirmed that point in the interview he just did. There's a thread that Pickle-El started with that in it, if you need to read it. The thing with Snow was back long before Singer came aboard. Since Singer and Ottman decided to use the Willaims theme for the movies, the show now stays away from it for the most part.

Think about all of the expanded Superman villains they've used the last two season that they never had access to before, the Fortress of Solitude, etc. Hell the show now has their own version of the "S" shield now, that's the definitive logo of Superman, the logo that makes the costume.

Batman is a different animal all together. Different creative team on it completely, so anything involving that character they have to go to the studio since they dont have a relationship with Nolan and Co. Although if the Comics Continuum article from yesterday is correct, that rule may be getting bent as well later on this year.

I always assumed it was a given that we'd atleast see some hint of the Supes suit in the finale. Perhaps a swooshing of the cape, or a brief glimpse of it in totality, depending on what the finale holds, ofcourse. Is that not likely? Sorry, fandom newbie here, not much upto what's been said, if anything, wrt this matter.

I can see two possible scenarios.

We see him leaving the FOS in the suit, like CR in the movie; or

We see him flying over Metropolis, Lois is on the street, scribbling madly in her notebook, Lana and Martha are watching him on TV, Lex is enviously staring up from the balcony of his penthouse in Metropolis.

Oooh, I like those scenario's. I'm getting goosebumps already!

Ooh, I like that second idea Avid....that would be great.

I would actually like to have a voice over of Lana at the end, kind of like what she did at the end of Superman for all Seasons. Something simple and sweet.

maybe this

or something like it

I so sincerely hope that Snow gets to bring the Superman and Krypton leitmotifs in a significant way (or, even better, several ways) by, and for, the end of the series. I've missed hearing them in the big mythology moments of the past couple of seasons.

My friends brother who works for the WB says that embargo is still in place. SV may use somethings but when it comes to the name and the suit they must ask before using it. Hell the only way they were allowed to use the \S/ is to make it look very close to another. SV has gotten some lead way because it came first but from what I am told in order to use the suit they must ask them first as well as music.

Wow, Mclure... interesting interview. Thanks for the links.
