Martin Campbell is Directing Green Lantern

GL filming in the same studio as SR will make it crap?

That's debateable.

It also has no relevancy.

Oh, God, it's not supernatural people.

Just not so great filmmaking.

I fear this might be moved to 2011. If it's indeed 9 months of shooting, there would be only 3 months of post-production.

I think your math is off

9 months of shooting, starting in November, would wrap in July 2010. Close to 5 months of post

also, the preproduction is long on this badboy. The article states that pre-production starts in the summer. I don't believe that. It's happening right now. It's been happening for the past couple of months.

i dont see why it would be 9 months of filming. Most films are usually only 4-6months of shooting, and then it varies for post production.

Filming was originally supposed to start in September from what I remember.

That's correct. De Line, the producer, said, "We plan on starting to shoot mid-September in Australia."

And GL filming in Sydney was confirmed last month. That info from this morning was not news.

Cool, GL shooting near me, might try and get myself a job on the film. :woot:

^Well someone has to in order to get us some set photos. :woot:

Are they getting close to nailing down a short list of actors for the starring role?

Yes.

There is a lot of non news lately in the movie world. I guess the news is the pre-production and filming dates were pushed back.

I remember seeing something along those lines, but it appears the battle between Sydney and Melbourne wasn't finally settled until recently. There was even an article in a March 30 Aussie paper that said GL production offices had been opened in Melbourne, but this now looks to have been only for the Victoria air show location footage that they're suppose to shoot there. I suspect that WB was always intent on filming at Fox Studios in Sydney (a fav of theirs) but was going to play the various locations against each other to get the most concessions as it could from the NSW government. Looks like it worked.

Maybe waiting until November will give them a better chance of getting Sam Worthington after Clash of the Titans?

Whatever, I just hope they finalize everything soon.

Not saying that it won't happen , although i feel that WB might think twice to cast Sam Worthington. Yes i know that the studio exec. are impressed with him however if Worthington would sign up for GL , that could mean that he'd be attached to potentially 3 trilogies. Assuming of course that Avatar & Clash Of the Titans become hits.

Clash Of The Titans and Avatar are all part of trilogies and going with the studio logic the lead actor for GL will also be signed for 3 movies.

Clash OF The Titans is a WB movie so WB might try to reschedule date if they went forward with a GL sequels and a Titans sequel. HOwever Avatar is Fox property and as we've seen with Emily Blunt , making two movies at two different studios can eventually prove to be a problem.

Yea that is true, its just a wait and see situation we are in.

oh yeah, that makes sense, when did Clash of the Titans become part of a trilogy?

Clash of Titans I can see as a potential trilogy, but I tought Avatar would be a stand-alone.

And the same would problabily happen with Pine. He alredy has Star Trek and is short of making lobby for The A Team.

well most big budget summer blockbusters are tagged to potentially be a triology if first film is a decent success.

But then you'd have to sign a non-disclosure agreement, which means you can't say anything about GL or the production beyond the specifics of what the studio says you can talk about.

But if you can, could you get some call sheets and stuff? Set pics are sort of boring and occasionally blurry.

Well they wanna see how COTT performs but it is being planned as a trilogy

Cameron has always planned Avatar as a trilogy.

And yes it goes the same for Chris Pine. Should take on a role in A-Team which is set up at Fox , if i'm not mistaken , it could prove to a problem since Star TRek and A-team are with two different studios.

OF course Pine has the advantage that he's attached to 1 high profile trilogy ( Trek) as opposed to Worthington who is part of 2 franchises ( Avatar & Clash Of The Titans).

We'll see.

Either Pine or Worthington will make me happy. :woot:

Yea i agree if either where choosen i would be fine with them.

but if either are not picked hopefully another solid actor is choosen.
