Marvel December 2009 Solicitations

I refuse to read Ultimates 3 or ultimatum, and because of my anal I have to read all set up to enjoy it I can't read Ultimate Avengers.

No you don't. Because Loeb raped the characters so badly, its best just to go straight to Ultimate Avengers, trust me!

Oh God, Thor in Mighty Avengers! MA vs. DA! I can't wait! :D :D :D

Oh God, the Mighty Avengers in Realm of Kings: Inhumans! I wasn't even going to buy this series but I'm totally all over it now! :D :D :D

FF looks fun. Looking forward to seeing the Power Pack, even if it is just as guests at Franklin's birthday party.

T-bolts vs. Agents of Atlas. Sweet.

Sphinx! Nice how Nova sort of turns into a New Warriors reunion--Darkhawk and Nova fighting Sphinx--but still remains firmly true to where all the characters are now. DnA are amazing.

I can't wait to see Bucky and Steve "fight" for the shield. Why would Bucky not give it up immediately

He probably would, but maybe Steve doesn't want it back. He'll have been through considerable torment by the time he's fully back in the present.

Yeah after everything Steve's been through, I really dont see him going " Ok people I'm back, gimme my shield i'm ready to kick ass and take names!". He's prolly gonna want a break before he "fully" returns.

Steve doesn't know how to do anything else besides "be Captain America" :(

It's sad really

Maybe he'll pursue his art or become a cop or something. Or just act his age and bum around doing nothing but playing shuffleboard and complaining about his prostate.

Probably more understandable in his case than Barry's. Barry went to the Speed Force/Heaven. Steve went to a time loop where he was forced to powerlessly re-enact various scenes from his past, including such doozies as his mother's death and his time in suspended animation.

Nova looks pretty awesome! Sphinx vs Nova/Darkhawk! :D

Can't wait till the Cabal goes down finally.

Or maybe Red Skull manages to take over Steve's body?

Doom and Loki seem to be at the epicenter of the whole thing, which piques my interest. I may have to end up buying a lot more Avengers comics besides Mighty Avengers.

That Taskmaster cover for A:TI looks great as well. Everything Taskmaster dreams about. :)

I really don't know why, to be honest. I mean one of the merits of a true brass hero like Cap is that he doesn't stop, and he always comes back despite what agony/torment he's been through, unless he's just outright physically unable to do so.

With Bucky there I see one of three things happening:

1. Bru keeps going with Bucky as Cap, until he leaves the series, and let's his successor take care of what to do next.

2. They keep Bucky in the suit pretty much to show that he's not really Cap, have him fail in some way, and then Steve comes roaring back to beat down whatever as the one true, blue Cap.

3. Bru just skips the fat, gives the shield back to Steve, and puts Bucky elsewhere

I hope they stay the hell away from Option 2.

Bucky could always go back to being the Winter Soldier, and perhaps Steve could go back to being Nomad. That way no one gets to be Captain America. Compromise, such a beautiful thing.

Although, I wish they just put this story in Captain America #602. Who Will Wield the Shield? What a lame title.

I really hope Bucky doesn't call himself "the Winter Soldier" again, even if he goes back to the costume and MO. "Winter Soldier" has some pretty awful connotations, both in the comics for Bucky himself and in the real world.

Nomad's taken, by the way. ;)

My comic shop owner and I were talking about this the other day and I said it'd be cool if Bucky and Natasha get a "spy couple" series, running black ops for Nick Fury and bickering like an old married couple. :hehe:

Oh. I was unaware of that, then who came up with that SHIELD = HYDRA nonsense because I could have sworn it was Bendis, or did Hickman take over in the aftermath?

Hickman ran with the first storyline pitched by Bendis. Hickman fleshed it out. Came up with his own ideas and left all the Bendis stuff in the dust. He's the reason it's now an ongoing.

There was even an interview where Hickman basically said Bendis had nothing to do with most of it. Kinda a backhanded insult.

:ff: :ff: :ff:
