Marvel Legends, Selects, Universe- Thread - Part 1

I see them at Target and TrU all the time. What worries me is the fact that they actually put them on clearance for $7.50... I don't think they would do that unless they weren't planning on carrying them anymore, especially since there was a ton of space for them.

Question... How old are the newbies and how long have you been collecting?

I've been since the beginning... before legends.... Spider-man classics (hell i was collecting spider-man figures even before that) and have been a very active collector since.

I've been at this game for a very very long time and can assure you that The stores haven't stopped carrying legends.... Things are just obviously delayed in most areas. 3 will begin to show up in full force as well as the variants. We may even get a double wammy with 3&4 hitting at once

I've been collecting since the Toy-Biz days. (actually before that too being born in 1961)

I just ordered the Select Avengers Hulk off Zon, bought the MU Hulk in the latest set yesterday

I was a MS collector first before I got obsessed with ML's almost two years ago. I went to a buddies house and he showed me a display of his Legend's collection. I really understood tangibly the aspect of collecting I was missing out on. His display was really expressive & cinematic (like spideyboy's) and I've been focused on ML's ever since (and moving up the charts at a steady pace since that time). I still get Selects here and there, I picked up the Flash Thompson Venom the other day, but it's no longer an obsession like the ML's are.

I've been collecting on and off since toybiz series 1. I have a few of the Marvel Universe figures, but not really collecting that and haven't really gotten into Marvel Selects quite yet. The are a few I definitely want though.

Yeah my MS' s i usually limit to "this fits in with legends" or at times the bases that go with them (like the x mansion gate) or even pure awesomeness

I'm the same way. I wouldn't even say I collect Selects. Usually if the character hasn't been made as a Legend yet. Like the Skrull figures or Mephisto. I'm really thinking about picking up the Select Thanos now. I might need to have him.

I'm not going to be getting too many more Selects... Probably just the Nightcrawler, the new Eddie Brock Venom, and the Flash Thomson Venom. I'm hoping they'll do a Rogue this year since they seem to be doing classic X-Men characters. I'll never understand why Rogue gets so little love from the toy companies. The only single carded Rogue figure we've gotten in the last 10-15 years is the X-Men Classics, which is the barely even used in comics X-Treme version, which barely even looked like her. What's the deal with that? I always thought she was a pretty popular character. I'm not all that crazy about the one that came in the ML X-Men box set.. I want a modern version.

I was referring to single carded figures. She's been in a couple team sets but not available individually, except for that X-Men Classics figure. Kind of weird isn't it? There've been a lot of far lesser known characters who have gotten multiple figures across multiple lines but she's just got the one. Especially when you consider that she's a pivotal member of one of the most popular franchises, and had a major part in three blockbuster movies.

Same can be said for quite a few integral characters though.... But she and black cat have always topped the redo list (with wanda and Emma as well)

I'm telling you guys, the Hit Monkey wave is awesome. The pics don't do them justice. So far every wave has had a few figures that were easily passed by... Not this time. I love them all. I think Red She Hulk is easily the best female figure Hasbro has done in a long time... Archangel is simply one of the best Marvel Legends to date, period. I wasn't crazy about Hyperion based on the few pics I saw, but once I had him in hand I was stoked. His character is going to be making waves in the current Avengers book (just knocked out the Hulk in recent issue, and is the main story focus in the next issue) so he'll be a good character to have in your Avengers setup. Noh-Varr looks awesome.. I just wish they did a Marvel Boy variant since that is the visage he's going back to in Young Avengers. The X-Force Wolverine may not have been necessary, but he is appreciated by those such as myself that haven't gotten the SDCC pack yet. And the Ultimate Cap is far more awesome than I ever thought he'd be. I had very few expectations for that one, as I've never liked the way the red boots or the vest looked with that costume, but once again, once it was in hand really liked it. If you like the Steve Rogers figure you'll love this one. Do what you gotta do to get this wave ASAP cuz you'll be glad you did.
